Reflector sight

You can aim your gun without looking down the barrel. This sight works on the same principles as a telescope. When you move your head around, the image moves too.

A reflector sight is an optical device used to aim firearms. The first reflector sights were invented in 1900 by American inventor William F. Maurer. Reflector sights comprise a piece of glass or plastic that reflects the image of the target on the user's eye. This allows the shooter to see the target without having to remove his/her eyes from the weapon. Besides being used on rifles, pistols, machine guns, and cannons, reflector sights are also used on vehicles and aircraft.

Design

The first type of reflector sight is called a collimating lens and a beam splitter. The second type is called a half silvered curved mirror. The third type is called a collimating curved mirror. All three types of reflectors' sights work by using a collimating lens or an image forming curved mirror with a luminous or reflective overlay image or a reticle at its focus. The image is reflected in some form of angled beam splitters or the partially silvered curved collimating mirror itself so that the observers looking through the beam splitter will see the image at focus in the sight's field of view superimposed in the sight line. The image comprises collimated lights. The image is nearly perfect parallel with the axis of sight.

When you're shooting at something close, your eyes might move around. This could cause your gun to move around, too. To fix this problem, you need to hold your gun steady while looking straight ahead.

A common type of sight uses a collimating lens, a beam splitter, and a reflective surface. The lens focuses light onto the beam splitter, which reflects some of the light back into the lens. The reflected light then passes through the beam splitter again, this time reflecting off the reflective surface. The reflective surface then sends the reflected light back toward the observer. The reflective surface may be flat or curved. The reflective surface may also comprise several layers of different materials. In addition, the reflective surface may be coated with a material that changes the reflectivity depending on the wavelength of the incident light.

A reflector sight uses a beam splitter, or a curved mirror to bounce light into your eyes. It doesn't need much skill or experience to use. It doesn't have the same problems as other sites. You can combine a reflector sight with a telescope, but you'll get a narrow field of view.

Reflectors are used to make it easier to see in low-light conditions. Electrical illumination systems are used to make them more reliable in low-light conditions, but they also require batteries. Modern systems have batteries that can last over 50,000 hours.

One of the many sights we carry is the Holosun product line.

Models like the Holosun Reflex HE512C MRS Gold Dot Sight offer a great value, extreme battery life and quality construction.

One of the best things you can do to improve your experience with a firearm is to add a quality site to your weapon.
