Troye (lots of dialogue in this chapter)

A constant beeping filled my ears and I groaned. That sound was like a nightmare to me.

I rolled over and turned the alarm off, stretching.

When I could keep my eyes open without falling back to sleep, I got out of bed and took a shower.

I walked through the school gates, sighing at the bustle of teenagers. I instantly clenched my muscles, feeling like all eyes suddenly were judging me.

A familiar cackle sounded, and I looked towards the source. Tyler stood surrounded by his friends, my previous friends. He was chatting with Zoe, laughing and smiling.

I remembered my promise I made with him, to reacquaint myself with my past friends. That's going to be tough.

I decided to go to my first class instead of joining him, knowing I'm not yet prepared to talk of my sudden appearance.

The teacher lazily looked up when I stepped into the English classroom before going back to the newspaper. I went and sat down in my usual seat, pulling out my sketchbook.

I hadn't drawn for awhile, my evenings recently being filled with a certain lilac haired boy. My last incomplete drawing was the rose.

I still needed to complete the stem and fallen petals.

As I began to shade, the pencil began feeling heavier, the eraser being used increasingly more. Each eraser shaving fueled my frustration, cluttering together on the desk. Why couldn't I get it perfect?

The pencil rolled out of my fingers as i sighed in frustration. I gave up drawing knowing I was getting nowhere.

To me, the flower looked to... sad? I wasn't sure what my original intentions were but they certainly escape me now.

I opted for looking out the window, staring at the tall eucalyptus tree. Branches twisting and coiling through the air, reaching and grasping at nothing.

Footsteps approached me, but I couldn't be bothered wrenching my gaze away so I waited.

"Hey Troyeboy" a voice greeted.

"Troyeboy?" I questioned as I turned to look at Tyler, one eyebrow cocked.

"Yeah, it's my new nickname for you" Tyler smiled.

He sat down in his seat, grabbing out a notebook and pencil case.

"Are we at that level of friendship for nicknames?" I asked.

"Pretty sure we are" he replied, but there was hesitance and slight dread floating in his words.

"Yeah" I said after a moment of silence and gave a weak smile. I still felt uncomfortable talking to people in public, even if it was Tyler.

"So whatcha drawing?" He peered at my sketchbook.

"Just a flower" I mumbled, frustration trickling into me as I remembered my struggle earlier.

"Anything you draw is not a 'just'."

I felt a light blush rise to my cheeks at the compliment. My art had only been praised by the art teacher and Tyler, as it's usually been insulted by... others.

The bell rang, and I pushed those thoughts out of my mind, instead focusing on schoolwork.

When the lunch bell rang, I quickly packed my things away, feeling hungrier than usual.

I regretted following my stomach than my mind as I walked through the corridors, as kids passed by me. I had slowly gotten used to human contact, though it still sent shivers through my veins.

"Troye!" Someone stepped in front of me, blocking my path.

Of course it was Tyler.

"Remember that promise you made to me? About meeting your friends?" Tyler instantly said.

I internally groaned, not wanting to really deal with it now. But I did make a promise and I am a man of my word.

"Fine" I sighed, trudging towards the cafeteria.

Tyler fell in to step with me, a large grin on his face.

The cafeteria entrance loomed closer. I sighed, remembering that it was a promise, and entered.
