After a long two weeks of preparation Jennie and Jisoo found themselves in the private lounge of the international airport. Together they would fly first class to LA where they would stay in opposite suites in a five star hotel.
Until then, they had to wait for their flight to arrive.
"Why did we have to be here so early?"
Jennie yawned and leant into Jisoo's shoulder but the older girl pushed her away.
"We aren't early, the flight is late."
Jennie scrunched up her nose shooting Jisoo an annoyed look.
"Hey! Don't look at me like I'm in charge of the weather okay? This isn't my fault."
Jennie groaned but smiled playfully as she realised the perfect thing to remind Jisoo.
"Usually it is your fault though..." The other girl scoffed and Jennie felt her grin grow wider, "Remember when we had that flight to New Zealand, and you were so worried we would be late and then when we got to the airport you realised-"
"Yes! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP."
Jisoo covered her ears and Jennie laughed. She would never let her friend live down getting to the airport three days early by accident.
"You're a real mess Kim Jisoo."
"I love you too Kim Jennie."
Jennie leant back down against Jisoo and began scrolling through her instagram, noticing a post about the Golden Globes a thought entered her mind.
"Oh my God..."
Jisoo leant over her shoulder.
"What's up?"
"I just realised that I've been so busy I never checked the other nominations, if I'm gonna be there I should know."
Jennie opened google but much to her surprise felt her phone yanked out of her hands.
"What the hell Unnie!"
Jisoo looked red as she held Jennie's phone out of reach. Jennie narrowed her eyes grabbing a handful of Jisoo's hair and her iphone was promptly returned.
"Ow ow Jennie, okay sorry," Jisoo fixed her hair as Jennie glared at her.
"What was that about."
"Look, I was just hoping we would be in America... before you found out."
"Found out what."
Jennie raised an eyebrow, trying to look intimidating. Jisoo rubbed her hands together nervously.
"One of the nominees, I don't know. Well, I thought you might be upset or rather, actually it's probably fine it's just-"
"Spit it out Jisoo."
"Chaeyoung is nominated for an award. Best original song."
Jennie felt her mouth go dry.
"Chaeyoung who..."
She already knew the answer, but she could still hope she was wrong.
"Rosie Park... Are you upset?"
Jennie felt her cheeks burn in anger and embarrassment and she tried to keep her voice down.
"Of course I'm upset! You know what they... what she did to me Jisoo!" Jennie started to stand up feeling like she was going to faint, "I can't... I can't go Jisoo I can't see her."
"No no no! Jennie please? It's only one event you won't even have to talk to her!"
Jennie was about to pull her arm away from Jisoo's tight grasp but she looked up and could see the genuine fear in Jisoo's eyes. She felt selfish, with the sudden growth in her career this was probably even more difficult for Jisoo than it could ever be for Jennie with her petty high school drama.
She took a deep breath.
"Okay."
"Okay?"
Jisoo looked taken aback. Jennie gave her a small smile.
"Let's go to LA."

After arriving at the airport and getting lost trying to find the exit Jisoo and Jennie finally found the driver sent by Jisoo's agent to take them to the hotel. Despite being winter LA was a lot warmer than Seoul and Jennie was almost disappointed when they reached the stale air conditioned climate of the hotel.
Almost. She would have been more disappointed if the hotel wasn't so damn nice. Travelling with a star actress definitely had it's perks.
Now all she had to do was enjoy herself.
They spent the week relaxing, going to interesting sights and restaurants around the city, being fitted for clothes, avoiding paparazzi wherever they went, and in Jennie's case, avoiding any mention of Park Chaeyoung on social media.
Then, before she knew it, the day of the Globes had arrived.
