Matthis's nose felt numb as well as his ears and fingertips. He felt the wind pass through his dark fluffy hair as he attempted to dodge out-of-place branches, the moonlighting up his path. Matt felt the cold air replace the rough tree bark as he made his way down from a high tree branch. He could feel the anger and hostility of the D-dogs chasing him.

Matt fell with a thud on the cold rocks below him. He quickly pulled himself off the ground, his ribs burning in pain, and dusted himself off. Hearing the D-dogs' large claws crunch the leaves on the ground he took off down the large mountain. His rib cage burned with every step he took, soon it became obvious to him that something was wrong. His mother had taught him what to do if something was ever chasing him, but she forgot to mention basic first-aid in her lectures. So, he decided it was best to find a high, but sturdy branch and figure out what was wrong.

Matt ran through the forest, trying to find a somewhat decent spot, but this proved to be a difficult task. With every step he took his rib cage hurt, even more, his breath became even shakier than it once was. He could still hear the footsteps and heavy breathing of the D-Dogs behind him. He couldn't be picky anymore, he leaped up the nearest tree and got as high as he could without breaking a branch or falling, which was hard enough as it is. He took a very carefully placed seat and lifted up his damp blue tee-shirt. There was a large purple bump on the lower half of his ribs. It became obvious to him that his ribs were broken. He took a shaky breath in, but a burning sensation became prevalent at the back of his throat and soon he was hacking away, giving his spot away to the D-Dogs below. His veins turned cold as he sat there in fear. The dog's low and rough bark echoed around in his head, he felt his head buzz and felt like he was going to be sick. Soon black dots scattered his vision. He felt his head become heavier and an ashy taste made its way to be known in his mouth. He wanted nothing more than a cold glass of water and to be sitting by the fireplace at home, solving a puzzle with his mother. He was roughly brought back to reality when a large snap echoed through the woods. Matt's vision became blurred over with even more black dots and the wind became harsher. Matt fell with a thud, causing him to drift off into unconsciousness.

"How shall we get this human back to the master," one D-Dog grumbled to the other.

"I'm not quite sure, maybe if we drag him we can get him back to the castle,"

"Let's do that," and soon the two D-Dogs were dragging the young adult for a 5-mile hike through the woods.
