YOU SIGHED LEANING YOUR HEAD on your right arm stretched on the counter desk. you decided to take a short nap. it's been boring since no one has yet entered the front door of your grandpa's noodle shop. silence engulfing the corners of the shop, and only the ticking of the clock can be heard.

you'd occasionally glance at the clock hanging on the wall on your left, to check how much time has passed. now it's 4 in the afternoon. still no customers coming by. until sunset came, the piercing orange hue rays of the sun dominating the whole place.

your grandpa just sort of dragged you out of your comfort zone. and you had no choice but to accompany your only family—which is your grandfather—and do the work here too.

while you wait, your grandpa does the food in the kitchen. "everything good, y/n?" your grandpa asked, peering out of the tiny window on the wall dividing the kitchen and the cashier area.

you inhaled deeply then exhaled. "yeah, just bored." you muttered loudly for your grandpa to hear. still staring at the glass door glowing with the sun's setting rays striking through, you felt your eyelids getting heavy and your eyes that are about to close shut. you shifted your position on the stall trying to shake yourself up from falling asleep. a strong heat of blood flow streamed down your body causing tiny beads of sweat ran down your neck. you glanced at the AC, thinking about turning it on. then you remembered—oh, right. the AC's broken.

you stood up, kneeling down to get your face towel from your bag. "ugh, where is it." you muttered as your hands made its way through your backpack causing minor ruckus inside. while your left hand pushes away the objects piling above the towel you were finding in your bag, you usd the top of her right hand to wipe the sweats off your neck.

suddenly, a creaking sound of the door opening made your body jolt up. a customer! you held your breath as you straightened your back, still not standing up, wiping imaginary dusts off your light blue apron. finally, you smiled. after wiping sweats off your forehead down your neck, refreshening your appearance behind the counter desk. you stood up and saw your fourth customer for today.

and your jaw dropped.
