She waved at me today. There was no school today, seeing as it was Saturday.

I was in the city with my Mother and half sister, shopping for Kathleen’s fourth birthday.

“Look, Kathy,” Mom pointed to a Barbie doll, “Barbie.” Kathy gurgled, and I bounced her in my arms, “Do you want it?” Kathy just continued to gurgle. “I’m going to go see how much it is, stay here, yeah?” I nodded, a smile on my face as I watched my sister. I crossed my eyes and stuck out my tongue, which made her do the same and I snorted. If Mom saw that, I would be dead. I mean, here was her three, almost four, year old daughter crossing her eyes. Dad would’ve just grinned and joined in and Nick would’ve just rolled his eyes and smiled.

“Aaron!” My Mom snapped, and I uncrossed my eyes, my sister following suit. I turned to my Mom and plastered an innocent smile on my face, “Yes, Ma?” She shook her head, tutting. “Let’s go.” I pressed a soft kiss on Kathy’s forehead. “How much was it? Are we buying it?”

Ma sighed and placed a hand on my forearm, rubbing it slightly. “I-I don’t think so baby.” I frowned, and kissed my Mother on the lips. Because she always says that she is my Mother, which is true, and I shouldn’t be embarrassed or ashamed to kiss her in public. Besides, she was upset.

“It’s okay, Ma.” She blinked away her tears and gave me a watery smile. “My sweet boy,” She had cooed, “What would I do without you?”

I chuckled and shook my head, my eyes looking straight, where I saw her. The beautiful Goddess. Aphrodite. That should’ve been her name, but she does justice to the name Taylor, like Taylor Swift, so it was fine.

She had apparently saw me as well, as she raised a hand and waved at me. My heart stopped and my Mom noticed as she winked at me, which made me duck my head, after sending a smile Taylor’s way, of course. I mean, it’s wrong to ignore a lady.
