My brother felt my forehead then headed for the medicine cabinet , he took out the thermometer and placed it under my tongue

We waited for a total of five minutes , he then took it out , I watched his face but couldn't see any reaction

He's a good Doc alright

"You have a slight fever I don't think you should go to school maybe for the rest of the week you should stay home "

Chase handed me a wet cloth to place on my forehead , which felt heavenly and clifford handed me a cup of hot chocolate with little marshmallows floating all around

"I wish I could but I got a major biology test the first two periods I can't miss it ".

My brothers hand traveled over his hair , he does that when he get annoyed

" Okay, then ill drop you guys of at school but once u done writing you call me immediately so that I can pick you up "

"Okay but what about the teachers "?

"Haha , ill handle them , just take care about yourself "

With that we all piled into my brothers Jaguar F Coupe , a present from dad because my brother passed his forth year exams in uni with flying colours

On the way to school Clifford and my brother wouldn't stop talking about how great the car is and I was stuck in the back seat with Chase I mean I like it but I'm sick so its kinda weird because I keep on having to apologizing for either coughing or sneezing , I felt like a total idiot which also meant that my cheeks grew red with each sniffle !

Before I knew it my head was on his lap , he stroked my back , I asked what happened and found out that I passed out for like 5 minutes

"You okay sweet heart "?

"Yes Ian "

"Chase if she passes out again call me I don't care if she misses the test or not , I'm getting concerned ".

" Will do "

I hate walking when I'm sick , it feels like gravity it ten times stronger and it keeps pulling me closer to the ground with each step

I waved goodbye to Clifford as he was walking in the other direction to me and Chase

Chase has my bag on right shoulder and my head on his right shoulder

As we passed students in the corridors they either stopped and capped or turned to each other to gossip but all of them had their eyes on us

I would be lying if I said I didn't like the attention

Our register teacher glared at us as soon as we walked through the doorway , Chase didn't move his arm and I didn't move my head

We reached my chair and I expected him to let go of me but instead he asked the girl that usually sits next to me to swap places with him , only then did he sit me down.

I looked around the class room and caught both Jakes and Tias eyes , Jake's expression was some-what bored but Tia's was of worry , her look brought shivers down my spine

Chase's arm tightened his arm around me

" How you feeling"

"Alright I guess, got a headache though"

"Well here" he handed me a piece of sandwich , which looked to be ham and cheese on it

"Eat this so that you can take these tablets , they will help with the headache "

As I ate , my vision started to get darker again and my head felt really heave I rested it on Chase's shoulder

I didn't tell him what happened because I didn't want to miss this test Mr. Lee hates when students miss tests and he makes that clear every time he hands out tests , he's a mean old angry guy and I wouldn't cross his path

Chase hand held mine protectively , I know I'm going to regret this tomorrow but I need this right now

I really wished the test went by fast but unfortunately for me it didn't , I must have been sitting there twirling my thumbs for at least 20 min if not more

Fortunately for me and my pounding head I was on my was to my locker then the next stop will be my bed

As I rounded the corner I saw Tia leaning against my locker

Oh great I don't feel up to a fight and I know it will be one because after that look she gave me , she not going to drop the subject

"Hi" my voice came out raspy and my throat felt like a lava pit

"Missy whats you going on with you and Chase I mean I know he's hot and all but dude he is a horrible person , everyone knows that but apparently not you though , look if you really want a guy I can totally hook you up "

"What" I said as loud as I could possible muster which wasn't very loud at all "he isn't a bad guy and people would know that if they took the time to get to know him , who said I want to hook up maybe I actually want something meaningful"

I saw Chase walking towards us , glaring at Tia I turned around ready to go home and forget this day

Tia sighed and placed her hand on my shoulder , I wanted to badly to just give her a hug but I was hurt , hurt that no one wants to get to know Chase but are happy to judge and start rumors about him so easily

I shook Tia's hand off and walk to Chase's open arms , I held him close to me hoping he didn't hear what Tia said about me

He let go of me but grab my hand in his and we walked out of the school doors towards my brothers car.

" Ill see you tonight, go rest don't take any chances " he kissed my forehead and closed the car door behind me

He walked towards a group of guys standing by the school doors I'm guessing they are his friends , instead of whistling or teasing him, like if seen other guys do, they just turned around and walked back into the school

"Yes Tess"

"Why did Chase's brother stop visiting you , I know you know "

" Tess , don't worry bout it"

" Please , I like Chase and if he is in some sort of trouble I'd like to know it please "

"Shouldn't you ask Chase "

"He wouldn't tell me , please Ian "

"Ill tell the little I know but you should talk to Chase to get the whole story "

" Thank you" I leaned against headrest

"Edward and I where best friends for as long as I can remember , well one day just after his mother died from freak accident , he came to visit me , I must have been in Matric actually anyway it was an extremely hot day , so we decided to take a swim but I noticed a large blue mark on Edwards rib cage and I thought he got into a fight but that evening in the car his dad screamed in a fit of rage , even though I have no proof I just knew in my gut that his dad made the blue mark "

"Does mom and dad know maybe they could get someone to investigate "

"They do know , they spoke to cops and the went to the house but they couldn't get any charges to stick , after that Edward was forbidden to visit "

"Wait doesn't that mean Chase can't visit either "?

"Yeah , if his dad finds out who you are ..."

"I think I really do need to talk to him , if his dad is abusing him then we need to get proof and get his dad in jail "
