Chapter 5: Billionaire Co.

I watched the clock as the time went by slowly. I couldn't wait to go see Xavier and have an actual conversation. I wanted to see him, also. Two thirty needs to hurry up. It was two twenty at the moment.

"Dr. Reid?" I looked at Tyler. "I need help."

"With?"

"The oil."

I looked at the clock. Two twenty- three.

"Tyler, I'll help you on Monday, alright?" He nodded. "Alright, class, clean up so you can leave when the bell rings. Please do not leave my class a mess."

I packed all my things while the students cleaned up the classroom. I turned to the white board behind my desk.

I wrote: Test next Friday on last unit.

Then I wrote: Homework: Research a famous artist and write a summary about them.

"Make sure you read the board before you leave. It's important."

I looked at the clock again. Two twenty- seven. I checked the class. It was spotless. Good, cause I don't want to stay afterwards to clean.

"You guys have a test next Friday on the last unit." They groaned but I ignored them and continued. "And you do have homework." They groaned again. "All you have to do is research a famous artist and write a summary on them. I don't need all of you doing the same person. Be creative. All of you can't do Leonardo De Vinci, okay?"

The bell rung shortly after and all the students rushed out. I grabbed my belongings and walked out my class then locked the door. I seen Mr. Towers right by the main office, looking my way.

"Alex?" She called.

"I'm sorry Karen but I have to go. I'm in a rush." I quickly exited the building. "Call me later though."

When I got outside, Thomas was already waiting in his red Mercedes-Benz. He got out and rushed to the other side then opened the door.

"Good afternoon, Miss Alexandria." He greeted.

I rolled my eyes before looking behind him. The same Rolls Royce that I've been seeing everywhere I go parked across from us. I ignored it and smiled at Thomas before getting in the car. He shut the door before jogging to the driver side and got in then he drove off.

"Ready to see what's his name?" Thomas asked, while focusing on the road.

I shrugged. "I don't know. I mean, I guess." I answered trying to hide my excitement.

"That's great." He said, but it sounded sarcastic. "Oh, I picked up the kids and dropped them off at your house. I'll stay there until you get back from seeing the dude."

I looked at Thomas, noticing the strain in his voice. He was gripping the steering wheel, tightly and he was speeding.

"Tom, are you okay?"

He chuckled. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Pull over."

"What? Why?"

"Pull this car over, now!"

He listened and pulled over to the side of the road. I reached over and gripped his cheeks into my hands as I checked his face and neck out.

"Why are you acting like this?" I asked. "Are you in pain or something?"

He shook his head still looking down at me. I let his face go then opened the car handle and stepped out. I walked to the driver side and opened the door.
