Stiles was so excited when he got home and held the collar up to his neck as he looked in the bathroom mirror. He grinned ear to ear at the way the silvery collar and silver tag leapt out against his pale throat. He then heard the front door open and raced downstairs to see his dad walking in. "Hey Daddio."

"Hey Kiddo."

"So, I have a favor to ask you."

Noah closed the door and put his keys on the hook as he took off his shoes. "Uh huh. I should've figured that when you greeted me as daddio. What's the favor?"

Stiles took a deep breath and pulled the collar out. "I want to wear it as a c-cat, but I need help to put it on. Would you please help me?"

Noah blinked several times and sighed before holding his hand out. "You know there have been times, Stiles, that I considered a muzzle for you, but never did I think I'd see the day when I'd put a collar on my son."

Stiles raised an eyebrow before laughing. "A muzzle would've made sense. I just-I really like being a cat, Dad. I'm better as a cat than a human."

Before Noah could say anything to that Stiles shifted and looked up at his dad. "Oh Stiles. You need to give yourself more credit." Noah knelt down and fastened the collar around Stiles's neck and then pet him gently, smiling at the soft purr it elicited. "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think." Stiles purred softly and leaned into his dad's pets. "Now I have to get some work done. Behave yourself, Mischief." Noah read the name on the tag and snorted. "Yeah. That sounds about right."

Stiles jumped up on the sink after rushing up the stairs and admired the collar in the mirror. He purred loudly and smiled as the light caught it. He wondered if he'd see the wolf that night and quickly climbed out his bedroom window, taking his usual place on the ledge above his window to wait. Stiles let one of his paws hang down, allowed his tail to flick and rested his head on his paw, keeping his eyes peeled for the wolf.

Derek knew he needed to tell Stiles that he was the wolf, but he was afraid of losing the rapport they had built up. As he neared the block where Stiles lived, he shifted and snuck into the backyard. His eyes scanned the porch before glancing up the tree, but he didn't see Stiles. He then turned his attention to the roof where he noticed him lying on the ledge and he let out a soft growl.

Stiles's ears perked and he looked down. "MR. WOLF!" He leapt down from the ledge and made his way down.

"Hey. Sorry I was a little late coming tonight."

"That's alright. I'm glad you're here. Notice anything different?" Stiles prowled around the yard, his chest puffed out slightly and Derek smiled at the action. The preening Stiles was doing was even more endearing that what he had seen so far from the guy. Still, he decided to tease a bit.

"Hmm. Not really."

"What? You-But it's right here." Stiles puffed his chest out more.

Derek tilted his head. "Oh my. Is that a new collar?"

Stiles let out a happy chirp. "Uh huh! I got a collar and a tag. They're both silver!" Stiles bounded over and then paused all of a sudden very nervous. He had never been this close to the wolf, and he tensed only slightly before slowly creeping forward. "Is-Is this, ok?"

Derek swallowed but nodded confused as to why he was nervous. "Absolutely. I don't bite." Stiles purred and then Derek added, "...hard."
