I wake up to the sun shining down on my face and look around to see the guys quietly talking to one another. I sit up and rub my eyes as I take in my surroundings to notice that we are almost back to where we started. I pulled my phone out to try to call back to the house and gasped at the sounds I heard when someone answered the phone. I could hear yelling and crying in the background, and someone swore before the call dropped. I tried to call back but to no avail. I swore and put my phone back into my pocket, snatched up the oar that was lying by my feet. We made it to the dock about three hours later and began to make our way back to the house. I was growing tired and wanted to go to sleep. When we finally made it back, we all froze. Tons of those things swarming the place.
They are crawling over the fence and through the windows to get the people inside. Screams echo in the wind as people fight for their lives inside. The front door swings open, and I notice Josh and Ethan fighting off the ones closest to them. I pull out my weapon and drop my bag down on the ground, beginning to take out as many as I can. Dante, Tristan, and Garrett start killing them, and we clear off the front of the fence together.
I step into the yard and try to get as many as possible before they can hurt anyone. I end up getting separated from the guys as another wave floods. I start to get worried as I notice about five surrounding Josh, who backed up against the side of the house. I try to make my way towards him as fast as I can. I cry out when I realize I am too late.
A helicopter flies over us and begins to lower, blowing dirt through the air. My hair blows with the wind and swoops over my face. Blood starts to spray around me as the blades of the helicopter slice through their bodies and gunfire echos around us. I hear a scream and turn to see Sofia struggling to fight off one of them. I run over to her and snatch it from the back, jerking it away from her and throwing it to the ground.
I shove my blade through its skull, making it lay still, and push her towards the bus. I have everyone I can find to get to the bus for safety as we continue to fight. The helicopter finally goes quiet, and I turn when I hear the voice of my father calling my name. I slice through the skull of one of them that walks towards me. I make my way over to my father to listen to what he says. "What are you doing here?" I ask him as I make my up to him, and he wraps me into a hug. "We may have found a cure. I am going to be trying it out on people. Wait, are you pregnant?" he asks in shock and slight anger.
"Yeah, I am. I am also an adoptive parent of triplets," I tell him as his face morphs into astonishment. "Before you ask, Garett is the father," I say to him as I turn to look out at everyone fighting.
My father pulls me back just as one tries to grab at me, and soon a military truck shows up, and they begin to help out. They also try to rescue as many people as they can as they surround the house. I am escorted to the bus and find Sofia and Tristan with the girls. I sigh in relief and run over to them, checking each of them for anything wrong. Once I realize they are all fine. I glance over at my friends to notice that Garrett and Josh are not on the bus.
I head to the doors about to open them when I see Josh run up with Garrett not too far behind him. I walk to the door when one of them comes up and bites into Josh's shoulder, causing me to cry out. I jerk the doors open as Garrett runs up, and it turns its attention to him. It grabs him quickly and bites into his throat-ripping it out, and his body falls to the ground. I scream out, making the rest cover their ears in pain as Dante runs over to me and pulls me into a hug.
My father runs over, grabbing Josh and pulling him with him back to the helicopter as a couple of guys grab Garrett's body and carry it away. I stand there crying into Dante's chest as he talks, but I don't hear what he says. People start to get on the bus and take their seats as they are rescued and led over. Dante leads us over to a seat. He pulls me down into his lap, still holding me tightly in his arms.
I cry so hard that the baby starts to squirm, and I can see the foot imprint as he/she kicks me. Dante rubs my stomach, calming the baby immediately, and I hug him tighter. Dante not once let's go of me when the bus starts up and slowly drives out into the road. I continue to cry for hours while he holds me tightly in his arms and continues to try to talk to me. I don't know what time it is when I finally fall asleep in his arms, and he holds me the entire night.
I wake up to the sun shining on my face. I notice I am lying down on top of Dante in the seat. I sit up slowly and look around. My head is hurting due to all the crying I had done the whole day before. I look over to see Tristan watching me from his seat in the front of the bus. Sofia is next to him, holding Luna and giving her a bottle.
