February 2019

The sun shining in our eyes, soccer ball at his feet and my boyfriend staring from a distance. Me (Marli) and my close friend Mason were going to a nice, shady spot to play soccer on one hell of a hot day. We started passing the ball to each other, all until I got bored and wanted to 1v1 him. Of course he agrees, so we just play soccer until he sits down. I follow him.

"Can i tell you a secret. Please promise me you won't tell anyone," he says looking into my leaf green eyes. I get a bit excited but i stay calm and say "Sure, you can tell me anything you want." He takes a deep breath and tells me to follow him.

I look at him confused, wondering why he's taking me to behind the hall. We sit down in an awkward silence until he spoke up and said " If you broke up with Thomas, who would you want to date?" I sit and think for a while until I finally think of an answer. "Um, probably Jack, why's that?" I question. He sighs until he replies with "I like you."

I start to blush, quite a bit actually. I don't know what to say, nor how to respond. I look at him, smiling as he smiles back. "I think I'd rather date you than Thomas. I'll break up with him," I tell Mason. He looks rather shocked but he said he'd like that and so by the next week, we're officially dating.

March 2020

Me and Mason made lots of amazing memories in 2019. Our first hug, first time saying 'I love you' to each other and always teaming up in different activities. Although we eventually start drifting apart. He starts to like another girl, reminding you he's still dating me. I fess up and say to him how I hate the fact he doesn't even hang out with me anymore and barley talks to me.

He didn't seem bothered by what I said. We looked at each other until he finally spoke and said "I think we should have a break for a while." I walked off to Katie who was working on one of our group projects. I told her what happened and she was just as confused as I was. "I think it's a good thing you left him," she says to me. I look at her and say "You know what, maybe it is a good thing. More time for our friendship." We smiled and continued with our work.
