You spoke to Coco, saying goodbye as you headed back to the library. You had a slight skip in your step, focused on enjoying your day. Getting to the library, you found a set of paint, brushes, cups for water, and a platter to mix paint. You quickly got to work, drawing everyone's characters in the campaign. The clock struck, an alarm to let you know when to go to your room. Making your way, you saw Venable peeking in. She looked so curious, and slightly alarmed at you noticing her. "Goodnight, Ms. Venable." You spoke with a gentle smile, waving and leaving. She stared at you, you could swear she blushed at the attention. Ah great, you have a crush on me. You mentally cursed yourself out, upset with leading the woman on.
Your heart did flutter at the thought of being with Ms. Venable, but doubt also reigned. She's so prickly, she would probably nip me if I hugged her. You gave a soft sigh, undressing and getting ready for bed.
Closing your eyes and falling asleep, you could swear you heard Ms. Venable's cane tapping quickly, like she was running. "(Y/N)!" She called out. You couldn't discern if she was scared or angry, but as you ran through the stone paved forest, the sight of a worried Venable caught your gaze. Going to her, her arms wrapped around you tightly. "I was so worried you disappeared." Venable whispered, her lips just nearly against yours.
The way you hung off the bed drew you to earth, falling out of bed as you woke up. The feeling of cold stone against your back drew a groan from you, making you slowly get up and get ready. Quietly getting in the shower, you rested your head against the wall as warm water ran over your body. Your eyes shot open as you heard yourself snore. Turning off the water and rushing to get dressed, you ran out to the dining hall. Nobody was in the room, your heart thudding. Checking a clock, you saw the time. 4:50 AM. You stormed back to your room, blushing in embarrassment.
Coming to your room, you came across Ms. Mead. "Snuck out?" She asked, a look of disappointment in her eyes. "Oh, no. I fell out of bed and thought I slept through my alarm." You admitted, giving an embarrassed laugh. You rubbed your arm in discomfort, then heard Ms. Mead give a soft laugh. "Well it's good to know you're not a troublemaker. It's a good thing you're Ms. Venable's favorite." Ms. Mead sighed happily, her expression quickly changed at the realization at her words. She walked away, you watching.
"Wait, wait! She what?" You asked, trailing for a few footsteps. "You never heard that!"
