Water was splashing nearby. My clothes under my armor damp from the current finding it's way in, but somehow still warm. I didn't want to open my eyes, it felt nice, this slumber.
I remember running towards something, somewhere within the Tangled Shore. "What happened? Where are we?" I thought to myself.
While sitting up, I opened my eyes. I was laying in a foot deep of water, behind a water fall. Looking up, I could see my ghost made the fall safely down, he was caught between two branches growing from the side of the walls of dirt and stone surrounding us. His shell was beat up; and almost as if he sustained an immense amount of heat, he had burned marks all over him.
Pulling myself to my feet, I brushed myself off, and started to figure out a way to get to him. Backing up a few feet, I ran at the wall. My feet met with a rock before leaping off of it, hoping that my flying abilities would kickstart ; which they did. Gliding up, I rested my hands on the branches my ghost was on, pulling myself up.Reaching for him, I wiped him off, "Ghost? You okay?" I asked him before taking off his now old shell.
His faded neon green light was now getting brighter, "E-Eden?" He asked. Light grey smoke started to come out of him, as he was trying to reboot himself.
"Just relax, okay? I'll get us to the tower, Cayde will know what to do."
That name. Cayde. Something felt wrong about it, shaking it off, I held my ghost before gliding my way out of this waterfall.
"Ghost.. do you know how we got there?" I asked him, now making my way through what I discovered as the dreaming city.He shook his head, I didn't believe him but I didn't want to pry. I just wish I knew. Not soon after, we came across my ship. The once white and blue paint on it, now faded. There is moss growing all over it, you can see bullet holes from when the fallen tried raiding it. "It was a mess too," I thought to myself.
I push the boulder blocking the entrance, using the rest of the strength I saved.
As we climbed in, I set ghost down on a counter nearby the control panel. I set our destination point to the tower, I was dreading the fact to return there.
Not worrying about that, I looked through our cabinets trying to find an old ghost shell. The ship was now breaking through the branches and moss that have grown over it. I found his original one, or the one he was wearing when he resurrected me.
After putting the shell on him, it took him about 5 minutes to fully reboot. I took off my helmet, my blackish blue hair, which usually rests just above my jawline, was now almost past my shoulder."It must have been a while while we were down there, everything is so different now." My ghost said to me, and I had to agreed with him; it was weird.
The solar system had change and the light, well, anyone could sense the drastic changes in the Traveler.
There were planets missing, and the newest one, looked familiar in a way. I walked over and sat down in the seat next to the control panel, my right hand met with a vertical handle, it quickly pushed it up-wards. The ship shook a little before starting to take off .We blasted through the galaxy before breaking through the tower's atmosphere.
I guide the ship to a park over near the Hangar, I knew I would need Amanda to help me with the new paint job that it so desperately needed. I knew that Commander Zavala would want to see me, and that he would question where I was. I needed to find Cayde, that was the first thing on my list.
I grabbed my ghost, a lot of other guardians called them by their actual names, or nicknames. I don't. I never wanted to get attached to him. We headed out of my ship, I quickly ducked in the shadows not wanting to make a big deal of me being back ; I knew it was impossible tho. As I walked through the crowd of guardians gathering around a stairwell, I noticed that Cayde wasn't leaning against his usual spot on some scaffolding. I decided to just head to Zavala but a girl, who I recognized as Zenova, ran up to me. Her purple bangs pulled up so they weren't in her face.
