Just a little Blind (Kokushibo)

I stayed seated on my small rocking chair that resided on my porch, the sun hitting my soft skin. I may not be able to see but I know today's beautiful. The smell of grass fresh in the air, the birds chirping. I couldn't ask for a better day. Though I do need to run to the shops in town. What a struggle.

I sigh, knowing I need to grab some food for the next few weeks. I live fairly far from any good shopping spots in town, I live on the outscurts of town. Which isn't very ideal for a blind person haha.

'I'll be fine, I always am,' I think and smile to myself.

My life's a quiet one, I live alone and hardly talk to anyone. Ever since my parents passed away six years ago due to demons.. I've learned to fend for myself. No one offered help to the blind girl but i'm doing great now, reached the age of twenty two all by myself. May be a little lonely but at least I'm alive, I have to keep a positive mindset.

Getting up from my seated position I walk to my house door walking in being sure to grab a small and thin kimono to throw over my outfit in case I stay out longer by accident. You never know how chilly it will be at night, doesn't hurt to be prepared. Soon I grabbed a basket and made my way towards my door, I know this house inside and out so I never have to worry about running into anything... unless I forget to push in a table chair.

The walk into town wasn't so bad, thankfully I didn't run into anything. Quickly I made my way towards the shops I usually go to.

"Hey there Yocho," I greet the vegetable cart owner.

"Y/n, good to see you. What kind of vegetables do you need today," He says.

"Carrots, broccoli, potato's, and rice please," I reply.

"Got it. Just a few seconds and I will have that for ya," He beams.

A little times passes. "Here you go y/n, I threw a few extra carrots in there for ya as well,"

"Thank you so much. Heres your pay," I hand him a small pouch of coins I set up before coming into town.

"Could you please count them just in case, I double checked before leaving the house but I just want to be sure," I say.

"No worries, my cart makes good money, so if a few coins are missing i'm sure i'll be fine," He reassures.

"Thank you so much, I really owe ya," I bow before leaving to get a few more things for home, hopefully before dark.

My basket is now full of fruits, veggies, grains, sugar and tea. To be honest its a little heavy for such a small basket, and it doesn't help I know its dark out. Which is worrisome due to the fact I know of demons existence.

I just sigh. 'I'm sure i'll be fine,' I think to myself.

I started to walk once more, slowly but surely making my way home until I ran into someone.

"Oh! I'm sorry, please excuse my clumsiness," I bow, soon going to reach for my basket which had fallen from my grasp. No doubt everything spread out across the ground.

Soon I start to pad around with my hands into order to find the dropped items. Though I soon hear a monotone and deep voice say something.

"Let me help you," I soon hear the sound of things getting picked up off the ground, and the sound of items being put the basket, right after a firm yet soft hand lifts me up off the ground.

"Where do you live, I can help you home and hold the basket," He says.

"Are you sure? You don't have too, and thank you," I reply, a little suspicious of the man.
