"Have a great day my little angel!" Mom waved goodbye.

"I'll try, but no promises."

"Well, that's better than nothing."

"I love you Mom! Bye!" I wave back. After watching her drive off, I turn around to take in my surroundings. All I see is a bunch of teenagers on their phones, uninterested in anything else. I should get something to eat. Time to go and get lost in the hallways searching for the cafeteria. I enter the school nervously and dreadfully begin the guessing game of which hallway to turn down. Should I go this way or..?

"Are you new?" A gentle voice calls out behind me. I turn around to see another student who looked older than me. At least she seems nice.

"Y—yes" I stutter.

"Cool! I normally help the new students find their classes. Do you need any help?"

"Yes please!" I respond, relieved. "Do you know where the cafeteria is?"

Of course she knows where it is, you dummy, I thought, scolding myself.

"Yep, right this way! Just follow me." She responds before walking off. I catch up and stroll next to her. We walk silently for a moment before I decide to break the ice.

"So... What's your name?" I ask nervously. Why are you so nervous?? She's just trying to help.

"Pardon me?"

"What's your name?" I repeat the question with a little more confidence.

"Oh. My name is Lexie. What's yours?" She asked cheerfully.

"Cool name, mine is Meesha."

"Wow, that is such a unique name!" She complimented me, excited to hear such an uncommon name.

"Thanks!" We begin walking silently for a little while longer. Come on, don't be shy, not now.

"Here we are! The cafeteria. Is there anything else you need?"

"No, I think that's it. Thanks Lexie! I'll see you later?" I ask hoping I made a new friend

"Of course!I have to go help some more of the new students now, but yes I will see you later."

"Okay. Bye Lexie!" I wave goodbye.

"Bye Meesha!" She said cheerfully before turning around going back in the way we came. I take a long, deep breath and walk inside the cafeteria. Oh my goodness, there are so many students here. I should've eaten at home.
