|| Hyunjin pov
I wish mornings were always as peaceful as this, the sun shining through the shutters, clouds making way for the sun to shine, birds singing to their loved ones. It felt as though an angel was watching over me, listening to my every thought and prayer. This feeling of serenity was ever so rudely interrupted by the brat on my right,
Hwang Yeji.
Don't get me wrong, Yeji is the closest thing I'll ever get to a sibling and she's as sweet as chocolate itself, but I just can't help feeling jealous of her. The worst part is that I know it's not her fault I have these feelings, It's my family's. Ever since my aunt and uncle had her it was always 'Yeji' this and 'Yeji' that. I ended up competing with her until her family moved to the states for her to study just before high school. She's got her whole life ahead of her, I just wish sometimes I didn't have to work for the praise I so desperately need.
Anyway, 7:50, dance hall, everything was in order, and as soon as I walk in, I quickly scan to find Felix's face. He'd always been in my dance class, but I'd never gotten the courage to work with him, but after yesterday I just can't leave him alone.
"Oh, hi Hyunjin." His eyes were sparkling just like my heart.
"Good morning Felix, how'd you sleep?" Yeji had separated from my side and into the closest group of girls all standing in a circle. I scanned their faces, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. Yeji made the right choice of going to them, they were younger than most of the dance class but were all so charming, and equally as skilled.
I turned my attention back to Felix, realising I had zoned out and didn't hear his reply. Oh no.
"Uh, sorry...I...um, didn't hear you." I'm usually a great actor but the least confident I'll ever be when I'm around Felix.
"Oh, well what I said was that I didn't really sleep well. Had to study." He surprisingly wasn't as shaken as I'd thought. It reassured me to know I hadn't messed up my chances quite just yet.
My thoughts were interrupted though by our dance teacher, Ms. Lee, clapping her hands, signalling us to listen.
"Ok, today assignments are being handed out today, woo hoo!" A groan sounded from around the dance hall.
"I'm excited too, so for this project you are to either get in a group or find a partner and create three separate routines for three separate songs." I could see everyone eyeing who to partner up with and without thinking, I felt my gaze shifting to the blonde boy beside me.
"You will have eight weeks to complete this assignment and will be presenting it to the class and maybe even the neighbouring music class. Once you have picked out your group you'll be sent into separate rooms to practice." Everyone scrambled to find a group but for some reason I just stood there, next to Felix.
"Do you want to be partners? I'm not too bad at choreography." Felix finally spoke, my whole body frozen. I nodded, hearing a choir of angels within my head. Looking around, I saw that we were the only pairing and that the whole class had gotten into groups instead. I saw Yeji with the four girls from before, giggling at something, she had the exact same eye smile as me, I knew she was in good hands. Now to see if Felix could fit in mine.
