butterfly feelings

lunar - part 1

Context: Our family sort of celebrates the lunar new year, mainly because the China town in our area does a celebration for it and it is usually pretty cool haha, this year was year of the tiger.

Also my brother Chris does photography so he was excited to get some shots for it, he did take some great candids too hehe

"What are your plans for the rest of the day?" Tay asked Chris and I when we were chatting after band.

"We'll be heading to china town for the lunar new year celebration" I said.

"Yeah, it'll be really cool! You should come if you don't have any plans" Chris added.

Tay was interested and we told him what would be happening there and what it was like last time we went.

"That actually sounds really cool! I'll ask my mum if we have any plans tonight and see if I can make it," Tay smiled.

Later that afternoon, Tay messaged saying he could come, so we organised to have him meet at our place so he could carpool with us to make it easier.

I was pretty excited, my cheeks were feeling warm just thinking about him. I couldn't stop checking the time, counting down until he would be arriving.

When he arrived at our place in the evening, I let him in and caught a big whiff of his cologne.

Damn he smelled so good.

My cheeks felt hot. Why was I blushing? I can't seem to help it when he's around me. Gosh.

Wait, was he blushing too? Or am I imagining it...

He sat on the couch wearing a big yellow hoodie and black pants. He had a hat over his brown wavy hair and he looked adorable. I want to steal that hoodie.

I joined him and chatted while waiting for my parents to get ready. My brothers were also doing something because for some reason it was just Tay and I for a bit. I'm not complaining though.

He smelled so good, he literally had me swooning.

Eventually we all went to the car and we arrived at china town. We heard music and smelled food.

Everything was a complete vibe, there were some markets, food, lights, dragon dancing, and drums.

Tay and I started dancing together with the music while my brothers laughed at how goofy we were being together.

Tay stayed either by my side or right behind me the whole night. It was a very crowded place so with him being literally a head taller than me, I looked up at him.

"Wow Tay, what's it like up there?" I laughed.

He looked down with a chuckle. "Pretty good" and he patted my head.

My heart melted. Can he be mine?

Later in the night, we went to get boba from the same place we got boba with him before. It was in the area after all.

Coincidentally, it had been lightly raining that day, so the floor was slippery again and Tay and I started sliding and dancing together after I ordered our drinks.

While we were waiting for our drinks, we heard the fireworks go off so we quickly ran back to go watch them.

Tay ran ahead of me but slowed down and looked back to make sure I wasn't being left behind.

The fireworks were very close and looked amazing. It was a crowded area and Tay was standing right behind me.

A lady moved through the crowd and sort of pushed me against Tay.

He rested his hands on my shoulders and we continued watching the fireworks. My heart was fluttering!

When it was over we rushed back to get our drinks then as we were walking back, we stopped by a lunar new year decoration and I decided to ask my dad to take a Polaroid of Tay, my brothers, and I.

That soon became my favourite photo! Tay got excited that he kept asking to see it.

"Actually, I'll take a photo of it so I have a copy too" he smiled.

We walked around again and Tay and I ended up getting lost together. We stuck together and looked around for the rest of my family.

With Tay being much taller, he spotted them. "There they are!"

As we all walked back to the car, little did I know Chris took a photo of Tay and I next to each other, as well as photos when Tay and I were lost together. I soon saw them when he was editing the raw photos and he eventually let me have a copy of the photos from that night.

I smiled as I looked at a specific picture of Tay and I taken from the back. We were walking next to each other and he was looking at me from the side with a cute smile.

I melted. I think I'm in love.
