MADISON WENT to Carson's office to go over plans for the release. She appreciated that Carson allowed her to instill her input. It made her wonder, why's Carson's intentions pure? The magazine could have slaughtered her name if they wanted.
"I really appreciate all that you're doing for me," Madison mentioned.
Carson lifted her gaze from the papers on her desk, "well, a bit of charity is overdue on my end," Carson teased.
"I'm serious. This might be the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me. At least you'll only use my good side," Madison turned to her left, and striked a pose.
"Wait until other magazines start. Once the story hits the shelves, everyone's going to want their piece of it."
Madison sighed. Carson realized that she shouldn't have mentioned that, "I'm doing the right thing, you think? Put it out there and not worry?" Madison asked.
"Oh, you'll still worry. But at least you'll know what to expect. Having second thoughts?"
Madison shook her head, "every second, but I'm still ready to do it," Madison chewed on the inside of her cheek, "you know how men look at you, and say, you can do porn. Turns out fellas, I've already done it."
Carson chuckled, "leave it up to you to joke about this."
"Don't make me take you to my basement, and make you watch all of my videos on repeat."
"Yeah, that would be torture," Carson mumbled, sarcastically. I'd love that. Carson sensed Madison's unease, and decided to change the topic, "I started reading one of your books."
"Which one?" Madison looked into Carson's eyes. Carson gulped. What was it about those big, brown eyes, that made her feel fuzzy?
Carson tried to remember the name but couldn't. She grabbed her phone, and opened her Kindle app, "Beautiful Submission. It's quite... I had to put it down after the fifth chapter. Not allowed to get worked up while sitting at my desk, it's bad for the workplace."
"That means it's good," Madison looked into Carson's eyes. Carson felt that lump inside of her throat, "why are you reading my lesbian book, Miss Jenner?" Madison quirked her brow, teasingly.
"Well, I, uh," Carson rubbed the side of her thigh, and nervously looked around her office, "I read anything and everything."
"Sure you do," Madison tilted her head to the side, "your eyes... they travel to certain places... eyes... lips... breasts..."
Carson's eyes widened. Was it that obvious? "Oh, wow, I mean, it's not like I'm—"
"Attracted to women?"
Carson felt her cheeks heating up, "not that. I am. But I'm not checking you out, if that's what you think."
"Oh," Madison popped her lips. Her head was aching. Thinking about who possibly leaked her photos had been keeping her up at night. Madison didn't like what she didn't know.
"Unless you wouldn't mind if I did," Carson swallowed. What was she doing? Madison couldn't be interested. Why would she? Look at her.
Madison flashed a half-hearted smile, "after this blows over. Give me a call. You have my number."
Carson nodded. Madison walked closer, and Carson stretched her hand out for a handshake. Instead, she was pulled into a hug, "I'll call you," Carson mumbled. Her head leaping for the back of her throat.
"I'd like that," Madison leaned back, and brushed Carson's hair away from her face. Carson almost expected Madison to reach in for a kiss, but was disappointed when the woman stepped back, away from her grasp.
Carson inhaled an extremely deep breath. Madison noticed the blush on Carson's cheeks. Carson felt weak in the knees, as though she'd collapse at any moment, "I'll see you around, Madison."
Madison flashed one last smile—a genuinely happy smile, before leaving Carson's office.
