Ginny
Luna and I have been together almost two months now, and I still haven't gotten the chance to ask her out on a date yet. Now, it's about a week until Valentine's Day, and I decided to ask her to have lunch with me at the Three Broomsticks on the next Hogsmeade trip, which happened to be on Valentine's Day. Right after Charms class, we had a free period, so we decided to spend some time together exploring the school grounds. "Can I ask you something? I said while we walked around the black lake. "Well, you just did, but sure," Luna replied with a soft giggle. "Well, there's a Hogsmeade trip coming up on Valentine's Day. Do you want to have lunch with me at the Three Broomsticks?" I asked her. "Of course I want to. I've been wondering when you were finally gonna ask me out on a date," she said. "Well, I'm really looking forward to it, sweetheart," I said, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "So am I, babe," she replied, kissing me full on the lips. I got lost in the bliss of the moment, and I didn't even notice that it had begun to snow pretty heavily. When we separated, Luna burst into a giggling fit, and I couldn't figure out why she was giggling. "What's so funny?" I asked her. She took a few minutes to compose herself, and she looked at me, smiling widely. "You've got snow all over your hair, love," she said, gently brushing the snow out of my hair. "Thanks," I said.
Pansy
I noticed Luna brushing some snow out of Ginny's hair while I was walking with Hermione. It kind of made me feel sad, seeing Ginny and Luna getting along so well, showing so much affection for each other and showering one another with attention. Me and Hermione, on the other hand, had come extremely close to breaking up already, and we couldn't seem to go longer than a few hours without one of us starting an argument. I longed for our relationship to be more like Ginny's and Luna's. I could tell at times that Hermione felt the same, and I didn't know what it was that was making us fight so much. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that we'd basically hated each other for five-and-a-half years. "I've got an idea. Come with me," Hermione said suddenly, grabbing my hand and making her way to Hagrid's hut. "Why are we going to Hagrid's hut?" I asked her. "I think he might be able to help us work out some of the problems in our relationship," she replied. When we got to Hagrid's hut, she knocked on the door, and Hagrid answered it moments later. "Hello Hermione, Pansy. C'min," he said with a kind smile. "We were wondering if you could help us work through some problems we're having in our relationship," Hermione said. "Well, what sorts of problems are yeh havin'?" He asked us. "Well, for one thing, we can never agree on what to do together. I want to go for a walk, she wants to research something in the library, that sort of thing," I said, and Hermione nodded in agreement. "Well, maybe the two of yeh can compromise. Fer instance, maybe you can take a few books with yeh and go fer a walk, then sit down and look through the books together," he said, and I actually found myself wondering why I hadn't come up with that. It certainly would have prevented some of our arguments, because we would both get to do something that we wanted to do with each other. "Another problem we're having is that our friends don't like the idea of us being in a relationship. Ron and Harry hate Pansy about as much as they hate Draco Malfoy, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all know what Draco Malfoy thinks of me," Hermione said. "Well, with that, all I can recommend is telling them that you two love each other, and that ain't gonna change just because they don't like it," Hagrid said. "Malfoy caused us to come extremely close to breaking up last month. All that Hermione's told me about it is that he told her some really mean stuff about me. I don't know what he said or anything, but it took a lot of convincing on my part to get her to stay with me," I said.
"She's not kidding about that. It took her nearly a week to convince me to stay with her," Hermione said. "Yeah. Worst seven days of my life," I chimed in. "Well, what counts is that we made it through and we're still together," Hermione said, and I nodded in agreement.
