The forest was dark, moonlight being the only light source we had. We walked through the forest, hands locked together. “Tyler, I don't feel good about this. Why couldn’t we wait till morning to explore?” Even without the ability to see I could sense Tyler looking back at me. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of the dark.” He bursted out laughing. “So what if I am? I have every right to be. We’re outside in a pitch black forest. Who knows what’s out here watching us.” Tyler released his grip on my hand and started making ghost sounds. “Tyler stop! Where are you? I can't see anything!” I backed up running into a tall figure. “Tyler? Is that you?” Silence filled the air. The figure pulled me closer and made a growling noise. It was at that moment that I knew this wasn’t Tyler. I turn around trying to get a better look at the creature. The clouds moved letting the moon shine on the figure. I gasped seeing what I’ve been standing next to. Tall with sharp teeth. A figure with a deer body and head but with little to no skin on the head. Antlers longer than any I’ve seen before. Blood was splattered all over it’s teeth, it was fresh. It glared right at me, I could feel it’s hands creep around me slowly picking me up. I was too scared to move. My body had frozen, I had no control over it. It slowly opened its mouth pulling me into it. I forced myself to snap back into reality and started to kick it trying to get it to drop me. It finally released its grasp and dropped me. I hit the ground and immediately stood up and took off running. I started calling Tyler’s name looking for him while also running away from the creature. I could hear it, it wasn’t far behind. I came up to this figure lying on the ground, it was motionless. I ran up to it and to my surprise it was Tyler. His body lay torn and bloody on the ground. His organs were torn out and his neck sliced open. I heard a thud as if something were to jump down from a tree. It was the creature, it had found me. I slowly stood up and turned around. Tears falling from my eyes. The creature started walking towards me. It’s black eyes looking right into my soul. It stopped a few feet away from me then lunged towards me. For that one moment the world had stopped before finally going black.
