Life wasn't always fair. It will give you all the happiness in the world; fame, glory and power. One minute you feel invincible, all the power you could dream of in your hands, getting the idea of being superior to other people into your head. It will make you do things, unspeakable things that lack justice, fairness and most of all humanity. Heck, you could even lose your sanity as well.

All that was Akina once upon a time. A time where she would blindly follow orders like a robot just so she could obtain more power and glory. Just so she could win and be on top. So she could be the best and in return instead of getting all the power she so greedily wanted, she lost everything; her passion, her feelings and her sanity. Everything she once held close to her faded in her now dull heart and in the recent years, emotions for her had become non-existent. The years she spent in the mental hospital were brutal; being stuck in a four walled room with no way out and nothing to do except gather thoughts that ran wild through your head. Re-experience trauma and –

"Akina?" a soft and warm voice called out to her tenderly.

The brunette beauty slightly jumped, startled at the sudden intrusion of remembering her horrible past. Turning around she was met with her mother, her dark brown eyes filled with worry, love, concern and reassurance. The female blinked,
"Mom? How long have you been there?"

"Long enough to know that you're doing it again," spoke Akina's mother, Airi Sakura, her hands on her chest.

Akina closed her eyes and let out a sigh. Taking a trip down memory lane wasn't always the best because she couldn't even remember when she ever had a happy moment in her life. Well except the time when she used to play –

"Stop that," Sakura frowned again. "You're supposed to be moving on and not dwell in the past. Continue like this and you'll find yourself back in that forsaken room at – "

Sakura cut her sentence short when she noticed her daughter stiffen at the mention of the mental hospital and sighed. She herself hated seeing her daughter scream her throat hoarse, tears streaming down her cheeks whenever she visited that horrible place. But it was for the best for years ago Akina's mental state was a point of being destroyed completely with nightmares, panic attacks and a once attempted suicide. Airi Sakura almost dropped dead herself the day she found Akina in a kitchen with a sharp kitchen knife aimed and barely inches away from being plunged into her heart.

The older woman sighed, running a hand through her short dark brown hair. Akina, who was pale in the face, spoke shakily,
"Is it possible? F-For me to go back there? Would you really send me back?"

"Oh absolutely not. You think you're the only one that suffered when you went to that place," Sakura walked over to her daughter and once she reached her, she placed her hands on her cheeks, inspecting her delicate features. Features she acquired from herself.
"I spent night after night worrying about you, wondering if you slept okay with waking up screaming and crying."

"I don't wanna go back," Akina whispered to her mother, tears pooling the corner of her eyes. Vulnerability was something she grew to and never showed anyone except when she was in the presence of her mother. Cause her mother knew her too well for her to put up the whole 'bad girl delinquent' reputation she give herself at Raimon.

"And you won't –" Sakura wrapped her daughter in a hug, squeezing her tightly, placing her chin on her head, "– cause as long as I'm here, I won't ever allow anyone to take you away. You're safe with me my darling."
