Recovery: A HoO Continuation

Piper

It was around 4:15 when Piper was woken up by a sharp rapping on her window. She expected a bleary eyed Jason but instead was greeted by a wild eyed Leo. He moved his hand in a "come here" gesture. She did the only thing that seemed logical, but later embarrassing. She screamed.

All her brothers and sisters woke with a start and looked around, a couple hitting their heads on the bunks above them. Their eyes soon found Piper frozen in a state of terror staring out the window.

In turn, they all widened their own eyes. Mitchell hurried to open the door and push Piper out, noticing Leo's attention on her. She hurried back to the door but it was now locked and Mitchell mouthed a 'Sorry!' So much for sacrificing yourself for those you love!

She slowly turned back to Leo and poked him in the cheek. Nope, not a ghost. "What happened?"

"Well, I died and then Festus brought me back to life with the Physician's Cure and we flew to Ogygia to get Calypso and stopped for a day to fix Festus' leg, then flew straight here," he explained casually, as if he were explaining what he did at school to his parents, not his death.

"Anything else I need to know?" She asked incredulously. He thought for a minute and tapped his chin.

"Oh yeah," he said and held up a finger. "Calypso and I aren't going to be here very long. Only a couple days. Then we're traveling the world. We'll come back to Long Island in a couple weeks or so.."

Piper forgot to reply to that one. "We should really go see Jason," Leo suggested.

"Oh. Yeah, right," she said, trying to clear her head. They started walking towards cabin 10. She wondered what Jason's reaction would be.

'Hey, dude, you're alive!' She also invisioned a different scenario where he broke down in tears, though Piper knew that wouldn't happen.

They also woke up Annabeth on the way. Yet another shocked face. Leo explained his unaccounted days the same way he had for Piper. You could literally see Annabeth's mind at work as she glanced between Leo and Piper.

Annabeth went back inside her cabin to change clothes and put on shoes. They continued walking waking up Percy, who responded with a bro hug. He changed as well, consider he was wearing blue fish pajama pants and a blue shirtsleeve. What was it with the blue stuff?

They then walked the short distance to cabin 1. Leo knocked on the door and Jason opened it on the fifth knock. His bleary eyes quickly became wide. He grinned ear to ear. Leo ended up receiving two bro hugs. "Dude! What happened?!"

Leo once again launched into the story of his travels and ended with a bang. Bang, meaning Calypso walked up and slipped her arm under Leo's. At this point, Piper was pretty sure everyone's jaws were on the ground.

Percy was the first to talk, "Calypso? You found her?" Calypso turned around and smiled.

"Hello, Percy. You've grown," she said with a smile.

"Well, I guess everyone's got a honey now!" Leo exclaimed. "Even Nico's got a...person." Piper had forgotten about his habit of saying stupid things.

All seven of them headed to the Big House to discuss things and party with the cabin councilors. Apparently, Chiron had thought ahead. All the head of cabins were there. We all sat around the ping pong table and ate cheese wiz and drank diet Coke with Mr. D staring at his can in mourning.

Chiron raised his diet Coke and said,"To Leo! The hero who brought life back into everyone around him, even himself!"

Everyone laughed and held up whatever was in their hands at the time. Ping pong balls covered in cheese wiz, Coke cans, stolen roman armour, blue chocolate chip cookies, even a baby sataur kicking his hooves and pummeling the air.

Piper believed it might well be the happiest night she had had in a long time.
