A crack broke the silence of the quiet apartment complex. A wail of pain followed which shook the small apartment, the man releasing the sound was on his knees holding his now broken wrist. The other man stands over him a cocky smirk plastered across his face,

"Why'd you do that Wall?"

Wallace starts to shake as the man over him swings his bat down onto the floor, the end cap making a loud thump as it hits the ground next to him. Wallace shakes on the floor, his brown locks falling into his eyes, the blonde standing over him frowns leaning on the bat.

"Aw, Wallace, you should never block a batter's swing, especially with your hand. Fuck! Now you can't pitch for me. What a shame."

The blonde growls at him kicking his leg roughly, "Come on idiot say something!"

"S-shut up Joyce! What the hell? Why are you trying to kill me with that thing!"

Joyce frowns deeply, he pulls his bat up winding it getting ready to swing again. He quickly swings it at Wallace's ribs but the man dodgers just in time leaning up against the wall with his good hand. He stares down his tormentor before booking it to the front door. Joyce follows him screaming at the top of his lungs, "If you just didn't fucking get with her I wouldn't have to!"

"Y-you're fucking crazy, man!" Wallace blurts out grabbing the door and swinging it open, racing out into the hallway. He flees into the long halls of the complex, breathing shakily trying to find the fire escape. Loud sounds of metal hitting carpet flooring sounds out behind him before another burst of anger comes from the blonde, "Come on Wall! You'll never be faster than me, We have the same workout after all!"

"Let's work this out, Wall! Just like old times, me and you buddy."

Wallace falls into the fire escape stairwell, he paces himself downstairs making it to the fifth floor before having no other way out. He goes through the building's fifth floor since there was no way down to the ground floor from that stairwell. Wallace mentally curses himself for picking the building with the worst fire escape. He groans in pain before ripping his shirt apart to make a pathetic excuse for a sling. The brown-haired man starts making his way to the second staircase, soon after the sound of a loud metal door slamming against the wall sounds out behind him.

Wallace turns around, spotting the one person he didn't want to, Joyce. His blonde hair was messy and unkempt, his knuckles were white from gripping the metal bat so tightly. Joyce makes long strides toward Wallace loud chuckles fall from his mouth, he couldn't hold in the anger he felt against him. "Wall! What cha' doin' best bud? You got a pretty nice sling there!"

Wallace gasps high tailing it down the hall, scrambling for the second stairwell door. Joyce picks up his speed, he quickly gains on him. Wallace slips into the hall quickly slamming the door in Joyce's face, he looks around in a panic before his eyes land on a fire extinguisher. He grabs it, almost dropping it due to the lack of help from his right wrist, "Fuck this is hard with one hand! Come on!" He sits on the ground holding it tightly between his thighs.

Joyce breaks through the door in front of him, he looks side to side before dropping his eyes to Wallace sitting on the floor. Wallace was clutching the extinguisher with his arm, using his good hand to hold up the hose. He has the hose pointing at Joyce who, in return scrunches his brows up in confusion. Wallace gasps for air, "Don't, d-don't come any closer!"

The blonde shoots him a sinister smile, "Wall how is that supposed to save you? There's no fire, just a bat, and a pissed-off dude."

Joyce steps closer, Wallace quickly pulls the safety pin out before gripping the lever. Foam blasts out hitting the floor and the blonde, Joyce slips and falls down onto the hard floor. Before Joyce could get up Wallace books it down the stairs leaving behind the mess, making it to the ground floor. He pulls open the door, finding himself face to face with a woman who was about to get onto the apartment's elevator. Her brunette hair was tied back in a braid, she stares at Wallace, confused.

"Wallace? What are you doing?"

"O-opal!"

Wallace grabs her, pulling her into a tight hug. He quickly grabs her wrist, yanking her with him. Opal yanks her arm away glaring at him before smoothing out her dress. Wallace turns around with a panicked expression, "What are you doing Wallace?"

"We have to get out of here Opal, he's gone fucking crazy. He keeps saying I took someone away."

"Who? Is this some kind of prank, you know how I feel about pranks, Wallace."

"What? No this isn't a prank, Opal. Joyce went psycho. We have to get out of here before he comes."

"Whatever, I'm going to go see my boyfriend, I'm sure whatever little squabble you two had can be fixed over a nice dinner at Mama's."

Before Opal could get on the next elevator, Joyce slams through the fire escape door. He was clinging to the bat like it was the last thing he had. Before he could continue with his game of tag with Wallace, his eyes fell onto Opal who gave him a bright smile. She walks over placing her slim hands on his rough ones, "Hey Joyce. What's with the bat? Practice?"

Joyce's brows clench in an arch, his eyes go dark with anger, "What?"

Opal shifts nervously looking up at her boyfriend, "Um, I said 'what's with the bat? Practice?' right?"

"Practice? Why would you think that, unless you've been practicing with other men? Maybe even Wallace over there, right?"

Opal's smile turns into a petrified stare, "What? W-what do you mean?"

Joyce growls, pushing her away, "You have been cheating on me, no?"

Wallace looks over at Opal, giving her a dark stare, "See, you've fucked up."

Opal's eyes dart between the two men, "I-i did cheat, a little, but! Not with Wallace. I cheated on you with my co-worker Dave!"

Joyce raises his bat glaring into Opal's brown orbs, "What?"

Opal backs away waving her hands in panic, "Come on Joyce, people cheat all the time! I-i mean even my parents did! W-we just weren't working out!"

Joyce moves closer to her, his blood boiling, "I loved you, Opal!"

"I loved you too Joyce! I-i really did but, we just, we weren't clicking like we did when we first met."

Joyce raises his bat up glaring at Opal, she backs up into a wall panting loudly, "P-please Joyce! I didn't mean to. I really didn't, don't hurt me!"
