Anastasia

My first stop on my new adventure. I went to visit Sersi and Ikaris in their estate in England. I really didn't this that one through. The change of scenery was nice and refreshing, the change of company was not so refreshing. I had missed them, and Ikaris and I had fully made up from him threatening to leave me to the deviants when we were in India and then apologized to me for threatening to kill Druig, at least for doing it in front of me. "Where is Druig?" Sersi asked, all but oblivious. "Last I checked, he was still in the Amazon." I answered, hoping to be done with it.

"When was the last time you spoke to him?" She kept persisting.

"I think it's best if we leave that unanswered darling." I noticeably flinch at the pet name Ikaris uses for Sersi. It was what Druig used to call me.

"It's only natural to be curious." I take a breath before continuing, preparing for going through this again.

"It's okay, Anya. We don't have to talk about it."

"No, I should have been ready for this. How do I put this simply? He, uh, ripped my heart out and stomped on it before throwing it in the Amazon River and telling me to leave."

"When was this? That doesn't sound like him at all." Sersi continues to question, trying to make sense of everything.

"It sounds like the Druig I know." Ikaris comments. We both shoot him a dirty look. Druig and Ikaris never got along, but his comment hurts. Druig wasn't a villain, they just didn't see eye to eye.

"Well, it wasn't the Druig I thought I knew either. But I went to see him the day after he walked out."

"Oh Anastasia, I'm so sorry." Sersi wraps me in a hug. That was the last we spoke of Druig.

I would venture into the city and see the couples everywhere and I would come back to see Ikaris and Sersi still so much in love. My facade began to crack and my heart began to break all over again, knowing that I don't have what they have; can't have what they have.

Another half a century had come and gone and I needed to move again. Until now, I hadn't even spoken his name but Sersi had urged me to go and see Druig; see if things had changed.

What else do I have to lose at this point?
