Annette's pov:

"Mom! I'm home! I'm gonna study upstairs with a friend!" I yelled through the house and heard a yell of affirmation and then started leading Adam to my room. "Jesus my body is sore." I complained as we slipped off our shoes and sat on my bed, "What kind of teach gives homework the first day? Ugh." I fell back on my bed and Adam laughed.

"C'mon let's get started, it's pretty easy shit." "Easy for you to say." I grumbled and we started working, occasionally stopping to get snacks or sit in front of the freezer, soothing our muscles. We knocked out the homework in about an hour and I decided to change to better subject. "So who's the girl." "Wha-what?" He cleared his throat. "You know who, the blonde from lunch," he turned red, "She got a name."

"Kate Harker. We have almost every class together and she's wonderful," he sighs dreamily, "But she's giving off such mixed signals. She has a boyfriend but she flirts with me all the time. I've seen her and her boyfriend too, barely affectionate, but she puts up with it." "Make her jealous." I shrug simply. "Right, and how am I supposed to do that? If you haven't noticed, I only take to three girls, Connie's taken, Julie us very much uninterested and you- he cuts off, trying to think, "Well I don't know about you."

"We can fake date." He looks at me surprised, "What?" "Yeah! You'll make Kate jealous and I get the satisfaction of watching the smug smirk on Ricks face fall when he sees us 'dating' especially since we both made varsity." Adam contemplates it. "Alright, but we need rules first," I grab a old notebook and rip out the old pages, "Rule one, always act like we're dating unless we're 100% sure we're alone." He nods in agreement as I write.

"Is there any pda that's off limits?" He asks and I think, "Just no groping me, but, you can put your hand in my back pocket." "Hand in your back pocket?" I hum in affirmation, "What the hell is that?" "Sixteen candles...it's the opening image?...it's a couple thing." "Yeah uh, maybe in the 70s." "Sixteen candles was in the 80s," I correct in offense, "John Hughes," he shrugs, "Nothing? Ooookay 2 more rules, you have to watch 16 candles with me because it's a classic," he groans,

"And we can never tell anyone that this relationship is fake because it would be too humiliating for the both of us." "Duh, first rule of fight club." "What..." "Are you serious," his eyes are wide, "You've never seen fight club?" I shake my head, "Oh my god! Ok, right it down, double feature. After we watch the candle movie we are watching fight club." I jot it down on the sheet, "Fight club, sixteen candles, no snitching, anything else?" "If Kate ever becomes single again, or either of us want to, we have to end it no matter what."

"Obviously." I comment but jot it down. "Oh oh oh, one tinyyyyyyy request," I look at him, "When Ricks around and shit can we be like, extra affectionate, just the whole lovey dovey shit just to drive him mad?" I smile evil and his grin matches mine, "Fuck yeah, put it down." I eagerly write it down and finally make two lines for us to sign on, putting mine on first. "Sign it, to make it official." He grabs the pen and sighs the other line. "Guess it's official, you're my new boyfriend." We both flop back on my bed and he hums.

I look out the window and furrow my eyebrows, "Damn it's already dark, you should probably get going." He groans as he gets up and repacks his stuff as I walk him to the door but suddenly stop him. "What?" "I hear Ricks car down the street, just wait a minute and play along. He grins and nods. We hear Ricks car shut off and a open the door, letting Adam out as I walk out too. "Tonight was really fun, are you coming over tomorrow baby?" I ask, my voice louder than needed just to catch Ricks attention and it works as I feel his eyes on us.

"Of course, I'll see you tomorrow." In a oddly swift motion, he had an arm around my waist and he pulled me up to kiss me which I reciprocated as the great actress I am. We disconnect and smile, leaning our foreheads on each other. I pretend to whisper something in his ear that causes us to both laugh and I kiss his cheek goodbye, 'dreamily' watching him walk away and down the street, only when he's out of sight do I lock eyes with Rick who looked beyond pissed. Oopsie.

He stared at me, not breaking eye contact until he starts walking over to my house and I internally panic, that's not supposed to happen. I put on a angry face as he jogs up to me. "What do you want Riley?" "Are you with Banks?" He asks hurriedly. "Yeah, so?" I glare at him. "No. Break up with him." I scoff, who was he to tell me who I can and can't 'date'. "As if Rick. And lots not forget the fact that you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend until I was face to face with her dickhead."

"We'll I didn't want her- I don't want her Annette. I want you." My heart want to break just a bit but I know better now. "Sucks to suck Riley. If you actually didn't want her and instead wanted me you would've left her the day we met. I'm with Adam now and there's nothing you can do about it. Bye ass hat." I turned around and walked back into the house, going straight up to my room. Who did he think he is? Thinking he has the right who I can be with and trying to fool me with that 'I want you' bullshit. Fuck. Him.

A/n: Sorry it's a bit shorter but this felt like a good place to end. Also sorry for not updating for a bit :( also can we talk about Adam walking into school with his hand in your back pocket? I mean I'm a Rick girl but damn Adam almost as nice
