My hands were covering my mouth, attempting to control my breathing. I sat behind the bushed late at night and heard her shout, "Stop!!". "Get off me", as she tried pushing them off of her. They each took a chance on her. I wanted to help, but I knew if I did, they'd probably get me to, so I waited there listening behind the bush, unable to move or to make the slightest sound, hoping they wouldn't kill her afterward. They finally left, leaving her broken and defiled on the ground with no care in the world. I approached her to offer assistance, and I went to call the ambulance and even the police, but she stopped me for reasons I don't understand.
I recognized the girl because we both go to the same school, I did what she asked so instead of calling the cops, I called my boyfriend. My boyfriend's name is Ashton, and he is the one person in whom I have complete trust in, even more than my parents. He is a nice guy who is always willing to help someone in need, so I knew he would be helpful. We returned the girl to his apartment, and she was jittery when he touched her to help her up, which is expected given that she had just been raped. When we arrived at his place, I assisted her in getting a shower and with whatever else she needed. I introduced myself "I'm Naomi" I said, and proceeded to ask her name. "Cassie", she she said in a quiet voice. As I washed her back, I commented "what a great name you have", just trying to be as nice as possible.
That night, we slept over at my bf's house, and because he is such a gentle man, he let us sleep in his bed while he slept on the coach downstairs. In the morning, I checked on her and tried to talk to her about what had happened, but she wasn't ready to talk yet. She did say, however, that one of the males had a birthmark behind his elbow. "It was very small", she said, "and you'd have to look very closely to see it". I talked to her about reporting it, but she wasn't ready, and I respected her decision. I went with my boyfriend to carry her back home, and she claimed she would tell her mother that she had slept with a friend.
