Tonight was the night. Emily was getting a lift from her co owner and friend Mark to the Martian were she was about to have her first date with Lena.
"I still don't fucken believe it Em, you're going on a date with Agent Tracer. Fucken 'Cheers Luv the Calvarlys here'" Mark said while doing his best Lena impression, which was terrible.
Equally excited Emily turned and said "I know, even I don't believe it and I'm the one going on the date. She was sooo nice too when we had tea. Just really smiley and bubbly, but like 10 times more than we saw on TV when Overwatch was still about."
"Still cant believe it, one moment you just said 'Bye Mark just goin to the vinyl shop.' Then 2 or something hours later. BOOM you have a date with an ex Overwatch Agent."
Emily sat back in the car seat. He was right, I just went out for a bit then, BOOM I met Lena Oxton then, KABOOM I'm going out on a date with her. To say Emily was nervous about this would be the understatement of the century.
"You'd better tell me how it goes, like when you get back I wanna hear everything." Mark said, still giddy by the fact his best friend, the woman he has known for 5 years, someone he has seen at her finest hour and her darkest was going on a date with someone who strove to make this world a better place.
Already at the pub, Lena was also equally excited, but also equally nervous. She had been pacing around that much that her once polished black boots had now been scuffed by the gravel she stood on. Christ she thought why am I this bloody nervous? Yeah okay she's gorgeous but she also agreed to go out with you Lena. Lena has a nasty habit of talking to herself in her head. This wasn't new however, during multiple Overwatch Ops she would think of something in her head and instead of explaining herself she'd just do it. This got her into trouble a lot but it always seemed to pan out for her.
They had agreed on 1800 (or 6pm) however Lena being Lena she was there for 1730. It was now 1756 and the blue car that Emily had been in started to roll up next to Lena. Emily had done her hair up into a bun but because of the over abundance of hair it flowed back down onto her head which made her bun look more like a mushroom cloud, she had also done some makeup, nothing major, just some eyeliner, maskara and deep red lipstick.
A blue flash surrounded Lena, one of the blessings she got along with the curse of Chronal Disassociation is that whenever she wanted she could 'disconnect' from the normal flow of time and enter what Winston dubbed as 'Chronal Flux'. This gave her multiple advantages on the field such as being able to have a look around and assess the situation while everything else is at a stand still, it's how she is able to dodge most things, and right now it's how she is trying to figure out what to do.
Okay Lena, this isn't just one of your 'flings'. This is actually someone you're interested in and she's into you too. Oh god I hope I don't blow it. She does look pretty. Okay Lena let's do this.
The blue haze that surrounded everything while in Chronal Flux dissipated and things started to speed up to normal flow again.
The car stopped and Emily got out. Now Lena could see she was wearing a gorgeous black long dress that came down to just blow her knees, she was wearing black high heels that had a rose pattern on them as well as her cardigan that also had a rose pattern on them. Lena was wearing a pair of smart trousers as well as a white button up shirt and even had her hair down. Not something she did very often.
"Hi Lena, wow you look amazing." Emily said slowly making her way over to her.
"Thanks luv, you too. Oh sorry actually you look gorgeous." This made Emily blush, pay back for making her blush just then.
