Chap.2

“Ma, can we go shopping?” Erica flashed her pretty perfect smile.

“Let me finish cooking first.” mom replied. When mom finished cooking us all hopped in the car, Erica and I in the back mom in the front.

    “Which store?” mom asked.

“That one!” Erica pointed to the on the corner with a neon sign that said Bubbles. As we walked I saw miniskirts and shorts that were exceedingly short. Mom nodded her head no as we walked past that section. Erica pointed out some jeans with a leopard print. “Aren’t they adorable?” Erica smiled.

“Of Course! Let’s show mom.” We went to show my mom the jeans.

“Oh my goodness.” We thought she liked them,”35.00$!! No way.”  Mom handed the jeans back to me.

”Oh, well that’s okay. We’ll find something else Ma.” Erica grabbed my hand and we looked at some other jeans.

I got a Black t-shirt with a peace sign and some dark wash jeans, a few bracelets and a skirt. Erica got some tank tops one purple one blue and one yellow, a jean skirt and some sunglasses. That all totaled up to$90.00! Erica paid half and we bought it all. The drive home was quiet until ’I wanna dance with somebody’ came on the radio and Erica and I started to sing. “Thanks Ma For the clothes.” Erica said.

“Oh no problem, anytime.” I opened the door and Erica and I walked into the kitchen.

“You want some jello?” Erica had a six pack of jello in her hand

“Sure.” We brought the jello into the room.

“Do you really like my mom?” I looked up at Erica.

“Yeah! Of course, she is so nice” Erica replied.

“Well before you moved in she was so overprotective. She didn’t let me go to parties or anything.”I Told Erica.

”Aww, but speaking of parties I know one we could go to tonight!” Erica smiled mischievously.

”TONIGHT! No way, my mom wouldn’t let me go.” I gave Erica the craziest look.

”Who said she has to know?” Erica replied. I looked at Erica strange again

“Are you suggesting we sneak out?”I smiled. “Yup, she won’t find out, if she does I’ll take the blame!” Erica said.

”Fine.” I can’t believe I agreed to that, I really didn’t want to lose Erica and this opportunity to be popular.

I put on a Pink Floyd shirt and some skinny jeans. “How do I look?” I asked Erica.

”Perfect just lose the pigtails and let’s put on some makeup” Erica put me in front of the mirror. She took out my ponytails of my blonde medium length hair and got out some makeup. The eyeliner felt cold on my eyelids, I never really wore make-up out before. Then the mascara felt like it was softly tugging my eyelashes and the lip gloss felt like a weight on my lips.

“Done!” Erica clapped “TaDa!” I turned to look in the mirror and I barely recognized myself. I looked like one of the girls on Tumblr.

“Thanks, Erica! I feel beautiful!” I smiled and gave her a hug.

“No problem girl, anytime.” She hugged me tighter.

“So, how do you suppose we sneak out of here?” She ran across the room and pointed to the window.

”I’ll go first.” She lifted up the window and jumped out. “Come on The jumps not that deep!” she shouted.

“Ok.” I sat on the window sill looking at Erica at the bottom. I’m going to be in deep trouble. I jumped.

“And she sticks the landing whoop, whoop!” she laughed.

“So where is this party?” I asked

“At Austin’s house, his parents are out for the weekend and we are going to trash his place!”

“No parents, Erica we could get into serious trouble.”

“Mandie, why do you worry so much? Everything’s going to be fine, besides I have your back.” Erica turned back at me.

“Ok.” We found ourselves in front of a brick house. Erica rang the door bell.

“Hello, welcome to the party Erica and...? “ He paused waiting for me to say my name. He was adorable I was guessing this was Austin. He was tall he had golden brown hair and warm brown eyes that mesmerized you.

    “Mandie.” I spoke.

“Mandie? Oh the new girl I saw in my Comm. Arts class! Come on in!” I blushed Erica gave me a look.

    “Am I really that obvious?”

“Yes. Yes you are, just calm down he is like any other guy.” Erica said.

“No, he’s…different.” I looked over at him.

”Whatever” she laughed “just don’t let him get in the way of our partying. I’m going to get us some punch.” When she left I couldn’t help but stare, I mean he was so perfect.
