Jhanvi's POV:-

I was sitting in the garden with Noor, Khushi and Priya and Happy laid his head on Noor's lap as she caressed his ears and he let out a satisfying woof.
That made all of us burst into laughter.
We were sitting and plucking flowers and making tiaras for each other from the bouquets that were sent for me as 'get well soon wishes' from some really special people.
Pink and red roses adorned my head as Khushi clicked pictures of me and Priya made one tiara of white lilies for Noor.
Happy wagged his tail clearly impressed by our artwork.
I was about to pick up a Dahlia flower when heavy footsteps marching the concrete pathway made the all four of us look in its direction.
I saw my husband, his bestfriend and my brother frantically waking towards us and they didn't look in good shape.
Aryan looked as if he was ready to break something.
Kabir has a pissed off face and my brother had a loose tie and messy hair.
Did they come back from some marathon?
Shush Jhanvi!
Thinking is injurious to your health!

"Guys, what happened? Why are you all looking at us like this?" Khushi asked getting up from the grass.
And that was her mistake I tell you.
"Noor, would you please take Happy inside Dadi was looking for him," Kabir asked her and she nodded picking up Happy in her arms and leaving the six of us alone.
Kabir pulled Khushi in his arms and hugged the life out of her and my friend stood still like a stone.

And I made the mistake of looking at Priya's side and saw my brother practically sucking the life out of Priya's lips. I made a face at them.

Another mistake I looked at Aryan who was looking edible in his grey suit.

Yummy!

"Who sent you flowers, love?" He asked coming closer to me and I went near him and rested my head on his chest.
"First tell me where were you? I missed you," I pouted looking up and kissing his jawline.
"I had an urgent meeting, sorry, baby," he looked shocked at first but then gently massaged my head and brought me closer to his hips and rested his hand on my waist.
"What's going on, Aryan?" I asked.

"The flowers, Jhanvi?" He questioned in return adjusting my tiara.

And I realised that I had to take him somewhere today.
It's about time my husband knows now.
"About that, I want you to go somewhere with me, will you?"

"With you, I'll go anywhere," he said pecking my forehead and I smiled.

"Aryan Malhotra! Stop being cheesy!" I looked away and saw my parents and Dadi silently tip-toing away from the garden.

Half an hour later, we were in front of the old-age home.
SHANTI OLD-AGE HOME

"Why are we here, chhutki?" Bhai asked.

"Patience, Bhai."

I said and all six of us entered a big room.
The chattering ceased and once they saw me all of them called out my name together.
"Jhanvi! You're back!" Their wrinkled smiles brightened up the room and I walked to them all the while holding Aryan's hand in mine.

"Remember the flowers, Aryan? They sent them for me as a get well soon gift."
He made an oh face and his jaw hung open.
"But Dadi said-- wait I don't understand...." I silenced him with my finger on his lips. And this cheesy man kissed the tip of my finger in front of everyone may I add.

"Oh! Now I get it. Mom and Dad were messing around with us, they were actually from here and we thought...." Bhai spoke and Priya cut him midsentence,
"And you thought someone was sending us flowers and love notes, you absolute possessive man!"she hit his chest in fury.

The resident people who are all old starting laughing at him.

"Aryan, I want you to meet the people of Shanti."

"Everyone, meet Aryan Malhotra my husband and the man I love," I announced and all of them cheered for us.
This is my old age home that I had set up with a little help from Bhai and Khushi's idea to help the needy people.
I couldn't be anymore grateful.
Children who abandoned thier parents, grandparents, mothers and fathers were embraced in this old age home.
It always hurt me, I ached deep down in my heart when I saw people not treating their parents with the love they deserve. I couldn't face the sorrow that their eyes held so I avoided coming here but worked away from here making sure they were taken care of over here and felt loved and felt at home.
I had taken Aryan to show him around this humble abode and he was in awe.
"I am so fucking proud of you, baby." He said kissing my lips.

"Wait, you're not mad at me that I did not say this to you before?" I was curious now.
Any man would feel angry if his wife hid something from him.
"No, my baby, I am not at all mad. In fact I respect you even more today, you took care of them when their families abandoned them. You don't know how much I love you for that, I am absolutely in awe of you, love, and I am honoured that you felt that you could let me meet these people. They are so nice," my eyes filled with tears and I crashed in his arms as he squeezed my shoulders.
"I love you too, Aryan." I said and he once again smooched my lips and I heard a faint click of the camera in the background.

We all had our lunch together in the old age home and chit chatted for a while and left not before promising them to meet them again as soon as possible.

At the dinner table, Aryan told everyone about his meeting.
Mom and Dad were enraged because they knew what a pain in the ass Bindu was. Dadi was too stunned to say anything.
And I had lost my appetite.
She was so jealous of me that she went to an extent where she managed to allow a kidnapper in the school.
What if he had attacked some student ?
No, no, I refrained from thinking such things.

"I have decided," I said keeping my fork aside.
"Jhanvi?" Khushi raised her brows.
"I am submitting my resignation letter tomorrow itself. I will not teach in St. Andrews anymore," I declared and everyone widened their eyes.
"But honey, you love teaching," Dad tried to reason out but I was firm on my decision.
Aryan seemed calm till now.
"Dad, I want to focus on the old age home as of now, and can I still nominate someone on my behalf as the school supervisor?" I faced Aryan and he smiled at me.
That's it. That's all I wanted.

"Priya, I nominate you as the new Supervisor, I hope you get elected, you deserve the position." And my friend started crying.
"Only on one condition though," she said after sobering up.

"And what will that be?"

"If you leave, then you will leave with a proper farewell."
I went silent when she said farewell.
But I agreed anyway.

I knew I made the right choices as far as I had my Aryan and my family besides me.
