They all looked at the paparazzi in awe. The fans were screaming and crowding Cate and Y/N, asking about the upcoming movie, and for autographs and pictures. Luckly the ride was already there, so they rushed in, pushing off fans and paparazzi. The taxi couldn't get past everyone, so he went outside and started to ask people to leave the road. He got them to move and they all drove off.

Y/N immediately opened her phone to see her contacts blowing up. Her manager was furious with her and her whole team was asking questions. She ignored them for now, just to check the news. There were pictures of her and Cate, sitting in the backyard, watching the stars. Someone had seen them during dinner, through the window. The creep decided to sneak in the yard and wait. To his luck, Cate and Y/N had come out to the backyard later, and he took hundreds of pictures, capturing every moment.

Y/N showed the pictures to Cate. Cate gasped, and put her hand over her mouth. She looked at Y/N with visible confusion.

Twitter was going mad. The pictures were tweeted so many times. Y/N could barely even begin to progress what was going on. This was huge for all the Cate fans who had been dying to see Cate with a woman. There were already fanfictions written about the two.

Cate saw her manager call her, she picked up.

Manager : " Just tell me what happened. "

Cate : " You found out huh? Yeah, I kind of messed up Hylda. "

Manager : " Of course I found out. I was woken up by my phone blowing up by news of you spotted with co-star Y/N cuddling up in Sarah Paulson's backyard. You think that it won't catch press? "

Cate : " Well how was I supposed to know that some weirdo would sneak in and take those pictures. I thought we were in private. "

Manager : " Yeah well I guess I'll start giving official statements to the press. Every single magazine and networking company has reached out to me already, and if I ignore them for too long the rumors will get out of hand. Next rumor will be that you already married Y/N in Vegas last weekend. So what will I tell them? You need to tell me right now, if you two are in a relationship. I can tell them that you're not in a relationship, just real close friends, I can tell them that you two are going steady and are in a relationship, or I can choose to not comment at this time."

Cate : " Don't comment."

Manager : " Okay but I need to know if you two are in a relatio-"

Cate hung up the phone and put it back in her pocket. Y/N was reading all the fan reactions.

Cate : " So what are they saying?"

Y/N : " Everyone thinks we're in a relationship, they're already making edits. I've never seen myself shipped so hard with anyone. There are literal fanfictions about us. "

Cate : " No! Already? Well I guess the fans are quick to write. I hope it's okay I told Hylda not to comment on our relationship. "

Cate winked at Y/N who was flabbergasted. She started to stutter and failed to make a sentence. She looked at Cate with shocked eyes and couldn't turn away.

Cate scoffed : " What?"

Y/N : " I- you- we-, wait what?"

Cate : " I simply told my manager Hylda, to not disclose whether we are together or not. Let's keep it up, make the fans sit on the edge of their seats. The publicity of our movie will be doubled, with all of our dating rumors. People will be flying into the cinemas once the movie actually releases."

Y/N : " Wait no, that's actually a great plan. We'll make suggestive public appearances, but won't comment on anything, driving the fans wild. The box office will be booming once we're in cinemas. Cate Blanchett, you're a genius! "
