Katsuki was changing in the locker room before what what could be considered gym. Training was one of his favorite things, he would never turn down a chance to get stronger.
His phone then rang, the upbeat ringtone playing throughout the space. Those present looked over as he answered. He knew that number, the first few were that of a hospital.
"Hello?" Katsuki said.
A light, feminine voice answered him. "Is this Katsuki Bakugou?"
"Yeah, that's me. Something happen?" He asked.
"You're listed as the only emergency contact for mister Kariage, is that correct?"
"Yeah, uh... What happened? Is he okay?" If his voice rose in pitch, no one in the room said anything. If he'd been looking around, he would've seen worried yet curious looks, but he wasn't looking.
"Mister Kariage was in an accident. Could you come down to the hospital to fill out some paperwork for us?"
Katsuki sucked in a breath. "Yeah, I can do that. Which hospital?"
"He's in Red Cross Hadano Hospital, right off of Yagoto Line. We will talk more of his condition when you arrive"
"Okay, I'll be there" He ended the call, letting out a shaking sigh.
Katsuki began removing his hero costume, changing back into normal clothes. Instead of his formal uniform, he put on his blue gym uniform, the lines forming the 'UA' of the school.
He was given questioning stares as he ran out, his phone in his grasp. His teacher was near the benches, so he went towards that direction. He got a few odd looks since he was in the gym uniform and not his hero outfit.
"Can you give me a ride to the hospital?" He asked his teacher, taking deeper breathe from the run. His teacher looked him over, assessing his physical status before answering.
"Where and why?"
"The one off Yagoto Line, I'm the emergency contact for my friend"
The man nodded, "Wait by the locker room, I'll get someone to sub for me"
Katsuki nodded and made his trek back to the locker room. His teacher was back within minutes to collect him and go.
When they got into the man's car, Katsuki felt jittery. He could only imagine what had happened to his friend.
An accident? What kind? What had happened? What condition was his friend in?
"So, you're the emergency contact? Aren't they supposed to go by guardians first?" He was asked.
Katsuki looked over, shrugging. "I'm the only contact on the list, so no? His family is a bunch of fucked up alcoholics. We handle his shit"
Aizawa nodded, eyes still set on the road as he remained stoic. "I see"
They arrived at the hospital and the staff quickly made him sign a few things. Since his teacher was there, Katsuki was able to go see his friend. Aizawa would take care of the remaining procedures as much as he could.
He did stick around for the explanation of what had happened to his friend.
It was a crash. Kariage drove a motorbike and he was hit, some crazy lady tried to run after they collided. There was an American-looking guy in the waiting room, talking with police. He assumed that the guy had been involved somehow.
Katsuki stepped into the room. Kariage was lying on the bed, eyes closed with bandages, stitches, and casts along his body.
He sat on the chair, pulling it closer to the bed. "Looks like you really messed up this time, huh?" He muttered.
A small hum came as the boy's eyes fluttered open. "Guess so"
"You're an idiot" Katsuki told the teen. A soft smile spread across Kariage's lips.
"Yeah. Do you wanna sign my cast?"
"Which one?" Kariage rolled his eyes.
"All of them. They're gonna need kisses too, y'know"
"I'm not kissing your casts" He simply said in return, searching around for a marker. Surprisingly, there was one in one of the drawers of a cabinet. Uncapping it, he returned to his seat.
Kariage had a cast on his right forearm that extended to his wrist and his right leg. It was his right side that took the most. His left ankle did sport a heaving wrapping and splint, however, though it was obvious not half as bad as the right.
"Turns out, the lady that hit me did it on purpose" Kariage mentioned, making Katsuki furious. He could've died because of this stupid woman.
"She would've ran too, but someone blocked her with their car. He's out talking to the police" Continued Kariage. Then that was who that blonde American guy was. He'd have to thank the guy later.
"If I wasn't trying to be a hero I'd kill her bitch ass-" His teacher then walked in. "I'd jail her on the spot"
Kariage gave a wheezy laugh. "Cute. You're Eraserhead, yeah? Can you sign my cast, any one. Kitty Kat has to sign both"
Katsuki muttered a 'fuck you' as he handed over the marker to his teacher. The man signed the cast closest to him, being the leg.
When he was given the marker back, Katsuki having signed both already, turning to doodle on them. He could draw pretty well. Not fancy things, but cartoon characters and things like that. He drew simple stick figures on the casts, along with fluffy cats, motorcycles, and one side singular heart. One and only one.
"The woman is going to jail, her court date is a week from today to decide the time. You're a strong kid" Aizawa told the teen.
Katsuki scoffed. "Wait until he starts on his cravings, you'll take that back"
At the thought, Kariage gasped. "My cigarettes! That bitch wasted them! My lighter too!" Katsuki gave an 'I told you so' look at his teacher as the boy continued. "Wait, I can't smoke here! In doomed to die a painful, slow death"
Katsuki poked the teen's face where there was no sign of injury. "Shut up, I'll sneak you in cheesecake if you're quiet"
Instantly, Kariage brightened. "Yes sir!"
They shared a smile, neither seeing the soft look Aizawa had at their relationship.
