The Knox Event

Prologue:

Rosewood, Kentucky

Tuesday

2:00 AM

-Months Prior-

Someone's POV:

The feeling of uneasiness and fear surrounds me as me and my team of five walk into the empty halls in the facility quietly. Lights barely functioning with blood all over the walls.

Me and my team were sent to a research facility Northwest of Rosewood in Kentucky. We were tasked to retrieve data from the facility after reports of said riots in the facility that took place a week ago.

"Have you located the objective yet?" a voice from my radio asked.

"Not yet." I answered as me and my team were getting ready to enter the main lobby of the facility.

As we entered the lobby, the sight we saw almost made us throw up. A shit ton of dead bodies of scientists and soldiers lay on the floor, many of them already rotting with flies around them and some decapitated enough to be unrecognizable. It was what we call a fucking horror in our eyes.

"Jesus Sir, what the hell happened here?" Private Andrei asked behind me clearly feeling uneasy from what we have just been through.

"Do I look like I know a single damn thing?, this shit is a massacre." I answered him not knowing what to respond.

"These bodies better not move" Private John joked as he earned a smack in the head from Private Andrei. "Get your shit together you fucker. This ain't the time to joke around." he told him clearly annoyed and wanting to go out already.

Time Skip

*A few minutes later.*

"Talk, this is entry team, we have now reached the office." I reported to my radio as me and my team reached the door to the office where the data is said to be stored.

"Good, now get the data and get out! We don't have much time left!" the voice in my radio answered in an authoritative manner.

"Man I am on it, get your pants together." I answered, getting annoyed. I ordered my team to stay outside to be lookouts to guard me as I enter the office in order to get the data.

"Talk this is entry team, found the terminal. Just need to boot it up."

Someone's POV:

As I was getting ready to copy the data and get the hell outta this place. A certain message caught my attention. I noticed that someone had left a message in the database 5 days ago from this facility.

Curiosity got the better of me as I checked and opened the message first to find out that It was a voice recording from who knows who the fuck this guy is.

"Hello this is Sgt Ha-bzzzz I am recording this from Revencreek Research Facility and uploading it to the system. I have blocked myself in the office, they are out there banging in the door. What have they done? If anyone is able to listen to this message, you need to avoid this fucking place. The people here are different now, as if they aren't humans anymore. This would probably be the last time you would hear from me alive so I hope anyone that would hear this would be well and won't have to experience falling into the same shithole that I have been through. I am no-"

I was interrupted by the sound of multiple gunfire and sounds of growling outside as Private Andrei barged into the office in a nervous state. "Sir we need to get the hell outta here."

I quickly got my flash drive and copied the data quickly and went outside with my team immediately. "Talk this is entry team, shots have been fired we are being overwhelmed!" but I only heard static sounds from my radio with no clear response. "Fucking idiots" I muttered. Hordes of what looked like the undead swarmed to our location as we are trapped here with nowhere to go.

We fought back desperately but there seems to be an army of these motherfu--- we turned our heads to see the windows shattering with more of them falling to the ground.
