I had taken Nick to the doctor the next day because Nick had a lot of pain in his wrist. The doctor couldn't do much so he told me to go to the hospital.

He did not go to school that day. So they were now in the hospital at 7:36 am, in the waiting room, waiting for someone to do something for Nick.

"Want something from the little shop down here? I'm going to get a coffee and maybe a sandwich." I said to him as I got up. "Just some water please." He said, I smiled and quietly walked away. "I'll be right back."

// Nick's pov //

My father had just left the store, I looked around a bit and saw several children enter the rooms and come out.

I heard a doctor talk, I turned my head in case he was here for me. But unfortunately that was not. "Okay Karl, you're fine, see you in two weeks okay?" the doctor asked. Karl? my Karl? "Yeah okay, thanks Mr. Miller." I heard a very familiar voice.

I looked at where the voices were coming from. I looked around for a moment but then saw a dark blond cutie with a purple.

"We'll be back then. Bye, Doctor. Miller." said Karl's mother. I wait for Minx to go back into the room, probably for some documents.

I got up and walked over to him.

"Karl?" I asked. He turned and stood looking at me with a surprised look. "Nick. I-I didn't expect you h-here." He said nervously.

"I didn't either, what are you doing here? Are you okey?" I asked as I took his hands worried. "I um..." He sighed briefly. "I have low sugar level, and I'm here every two weeks..." He said as he looked down.

"Oh baby." I said to him, he leaned against my chest and I hugged him. "It's okay, you're safe now." When Karl pulled away he told me everything, how he comes here every Saturday morning, how to be careful if he eats something so it doesn't have too much sugar in it. How he tries his best so that no one would find out. The whole story.

I kissed him on the head, he looked up and smiled, I smiled back. "Can I have a kissy?" he asked in the cutest voice I've ever heard. Without saying anything I kissed him on the lips, he closed his eyes and kissed back.

We kissed for a few seconds and then pulled away. "I love you." Karl said as he hugged me again. Of course I hugged back. I heard my dad call my name so i said Karl goodbye and walked back to where I was sitting before. My father was already back and took a sip of his water. "Hey, what were you doing?" he asked as we got up. "Just to the bathroom."

He nodded, we walked behind the dockter in white. She walked to the room 009. "We are going to do a few tests, then you will get the results and then you can go home." She said.

After the tests, the doctor put a white bandage on Nick's arm. "It won't take long to heal, but it's sprained, hence the bandage." She explained.

She looked at me with a small smile. When the bandage was ready, I thanked the doctor as she gave me a few documents.

"Hey uhm.. Are you married Mr. Davidson?" she asked when i gave her the documents back. "Uh, no I'm single." I said with a smile to Nick. "w-well would you like to have a drink with me, Mr. Davidson?" The doctor asked as she looked at me.

"As in..? A date?" I asked nervously. "You could call it that." She said blushing. I looked at Nick, he was looking at me. "I uhm.. I'm already seeing someone.. my apologies." I apologized.

"Oh, but you just said you were single?" she said with an awkward laugh. "We haven't made it official yet." I said a little irritated. She sighed deeply and let us go outside.

We walked to the car and got in. "Can you go to school tomorrow?" I asked Nick as I started the car. "I think so, but I'm going to take it easy." He said. I nodded and smiled. "Shall I give you a note that you can't gymnastics?" I asked as I drove down the street. "Yes thank you." He said.

I turned on the radio and let Nick decide the music. We were about 12 songs past before we got home. "Do you wanna meet Clay?" I asked as I turned off the engine.

He took a breath. "I want to do everything for you." He said. I smiled. "Thank you, I appreciate you doing this for me." I thanked him.

He nodded and got out.

We were sitting on the couch, Nick was doing his homework and I was preparing dinner.

"Done!" he said excitedly. "Are you done with your homework?" I asked. He nodded yes and closed his books. He put everything neatly away and then went to the kitchen. "Dad. Can I ask a question?" He asked. "Yes go ahead." I said when I put the vegetable dish in the oven.

"What if Clay doesn't like me?" he asked as he sat down at the counter. I paused and thought, I hadn't really thought about that myself.

I turned and smiled. "Of course he's going to like you, you're the cutest, coolest, sweetest kid I know. There's no way he wouldn't like you." I said to him. "But what if he doesn't like me." He said again, he put the phrase on 'if'.

"Well... then we have to find a solution." I said as I looked into his eyes.

He smiled softly. "What does he actually look like?" He asked. "Well he has dirty blond hair, green eyes, a nice smile, he is caring, he loves animals and children, he thinks hygiene is important so he is always neat. And oh, he can't wait to meet you." I added.

"He doesn't sound...too bad." He said. I gave him a smile and asked if he would like to help making the food, he agreed excitedly and we cooked the rest of the food together.

-

"So wait you ran into him in the flower shop on my birthday? That's amazing."
Nick said as he cleared his plate. "I know." I said.

I sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. He crawled over to me and hugged me. "I'm glad you're my father." He said. I smiled at him. "And I'm glad I have this wonderful son." I said..

He smiled along and we watched TV together.
