Chapter 22: Tigerclaw

Blackfoot's POV

After the battle we moved to this old Twoleg barn and the edge of the Twolegplace away from our own home. Zander, Zach and Lilly helped us dig a grave for Saphire.

The barn had lots of mice and hay to sleep on, Boulder was horrified about BloodClan attacking us. He's had a bad past with BloodClan that he refused to talk about.

I missed Romana dearly. She now lived with a young Twoleg who had a Twoleg kit.

I made my nest away from the others up in the highest part of the barn. There was nice soft hay up there, but I chose it cause I wanted to be alone.

"Blackfoot?" Mowgli climbed up what Boulder called 'a ladder' and slowly walked up to me.

"Leave me alone" I mumbled.

I could hear his pawsteps getting closer, "I know you blame youself for Saphire's death" he said gently.

"It IS my fault though" I hissed.

"No it's not!" Mowgli growled, "Your not the greatest cat in life! You can't save every friend you have! Cats live and die that's life!"

I slowly turned and looked at him, "She…was in love with me!"

The look in his eyes told me he somehow knew, "I've been blind cat! I was too blind to see that Tangleburr loved me and I did the exact thing with Saphire! What kind of cat am!?"

The brown tom gently laid beside me, "Your a cat who cares for others…I can see in your heart you love us all so much you would give you life for anyone here in a heartbeat, I once hear Clawface said you would be one of the best leaders ShadowClan has had in a long time."

I looked at him and smiled, "Thank you."

"I hope one day you and your friends can return to ShadowClan" Mowgli purred.

"Me too."

For a while we sat in an awkward silence, until Boulder came running up, "Blackfoot Snag says someone wants to see you" he panted.

I jumped down and ran with him, Mowgli and Stumpytail followed me towards ThunderClan.

We jumped over a fence and there was Snag and Tangleburr with a cat. He was dark brown tabby with a scar over his nose and a torn ear.

"Tigerclaw?!"

Sure enough it was the ThunderClan deputy, his amber eyes narrowed and he saw me coming, "Hello Blackfoot."

Why was a ThunderClan warrior here?

"Snag said you wanted to speak with me" I hissed.

"Yes I do, alone" he sat down wrapping his tail around his paws.

I thought for a moment, then nodded, "Alright, Tangleburr take everyone back home."

"Are you sure?" Stumpytail asked narrowing his eyes at Tigerclaw like he was about to attack.

"If he does anything, I can take him" I flicked my tail to shoo them away, Mowgli took one last at me then followed everyone away.

I was now alone with Tigerclaw, "What do you want? And…how did you find us?" I asked.

Tigerclaw flicked his ear, "Brokentail told me."

I unsheathed my claws and snarled, "He's still alive?!"

"Yes, Bluestar showed pity on him, he's now a elder in our camp" He explained.

I could feel my blood boil, I sunk my claws into the dirt and felt my fur bristled, "How is he still alive! He's a kit murderer and a selfish cat!"

I couldn't even say how mad I was at this moment. I wanted to kill something!

"Your reaction isn't what I expected" Tigerclaw said, a little surprise at my outburst.

"What did you expect then?" I gritted my teeth.

"Well I though you and Brokenstar were friends, I mean you were his deput-"

"I was hated everything he did, I never wanted to do anything, then ThunderClan stuck their nose in our clan and now were all exiled!" I didn't let him finished.

Tigerclaw blinked, "You were all forced under his leadership" it wasn't a question.

Now I was surprised, "Y-yes we were, We've been traveling around the Twolegplace just looking a a place to sleep, you have no idea what exile is like."

Tigetclaw's gaze softened, "Were your ordered to kill anyone who got in your way when you tried to steal ThunderClan's kit?"

I bowed my head, "Yes."

Tigerclaw moved closer to me, I jumped back, "Don't come any closer! Were not friend, you still helped exile us!" I snarled.

"I wasn't in the patrol, in fact I didn't know about your exile until I got back to ThunderClan!" Tigerclaw's eyes blazed with fire now.

Mine did the exact same, "But your clan still helped, we have nothing else to talk about goodbye!" I spat at him then began walking away.

"I need your help."

I stopped, "Why?"

Tigerclaw flicked his ear back, "Bluestar allowed Brokentail to say in camp, don't you want to get revenge?"

To be honest I did, I wanted to rip my claws through his throat and send him to The Dark Forest.

"You do" Tigerclaw moved closer to me.

I didn't say anything, "I'm going to kill Bluestar and I need you and your friends to help me."

Listen to him the voice whispered again, ugh I knew it! But I couldn't remember the name of this cat.

The voice helped last time, so maybe it will help me again, "What's in it for all of us?"

Tigerclaw smiled, "When I become leader, I will alow you and your friends to come back to the clans, I'll convince Nightstar to let you back into ShadowClan…with your mate and kits."

I ran up to him, "You'll help me get back to my kits?"

Tigerclaw nodded, "Yes, Ratkit and Snowkit are close to Apprenticeship, you missed their kithood, you don't want to miss anymore of their life."

I shuttered, I did want to be there for my precious kits, and for Russetfur, I missed her so much.

"So what do you say Blackfoot" he reavhed out his paw, "Will you help me kill Bluestar?"

I looked at his tabby paw, "Let me talk to my friends first."

He nodded, "Meet me here tomorrow with your answer."

Yay a long-chapter! Tigerclaw is here now and Blackfoot knows about Brokentail. (In the series ThunderClan captured Brokenstar and clawed his eyes out, blinding him. It turns out he is Yellowfang's son and Medicine cats are forbbiden to have kits. Bluestar lets Brokenstar stay in Thunderclan because of his blindness and he goes black to being Brokentail.) That's a recap of what happened in ThunderClan while all this happened.
