"How big?" Danny asked looking at Dad.
"I told you many times Danny. very" he said sharply./
"I know but how big?" Danny asked again.
"that big. Take a look boys and girl, this is the hill where we qualify for state, all we gotta do is be in the top four." Dad said pointing out the window. all of us looked out in shock.
when we got to the race grounds, Dad was hyping up Danny and then turned to us and tslked about who was going to be a stronger runner between us and the other groups. He assured us that he believes we are stronger.
lining up i heard someone talking to Thomas.
"Nice shorts." some random dude said.
"You play golf?" thomas asked looking at the guy.
"Yeah." the guy cockily stated.
"Well, this aint golf." Thomas replied taking position as the Gun went off.
My legs sprung into action running but keeping a good pace. The butterflies in my stomach were going off as i got closer to the mountain. so far i was fifth in the race but the others werent so far behind me so i had to keep a steady but fast pace.
I could see thomas infront of me already on the mountain. if he can do it so can I.
Time skip
I'm so close to finish lane. infront of me i see thomas eat ass as he falls down. I mentally 'oof' for him but run past him. speeding up i get infront of everyone infront of me, coming first place. yes.
Waiting for the scores was painfully slow. soon the judges started writing up the scores. all of us were on edge as everyone around us were celebrating. soon we see the letter 'M' being placed up.
"you see that. were going to nationals. the best in California. You guys did it." He said. I look over at thomas and see him tearing up. all the boys got on their knees and started praying thanking th elord that they are making it this far.
My heart was pounding, I felt like I was on cloud 9.
Dad reaches over to me and gives me a side hug. this was unusual but it was nice.
Time skip
we were back on the bus, which felt good on my aching legs.
when we get to the turn off dad turns off the other way.
"coach this is the wrong turnoff." I hear someone say behind me.
"It sure is." he says but contines going that way.
we continued going the wrong way until we got to a gate where dad was talking to this guy, i couldnt hear what he was saying. we then continued driving forward.
we stopped and we all got out and started walking, i could hear the sound of waves. are we at the beach?
my suspiciouns were correct as we made it to the beautiful blue water.
"Well, go on." dad pushed us.
suddenly we all broke out into a sprint. the cold water ingulfed me and it felt amazing. we were all splashing around enjoying life.
i stepped out and stood next to dad.
"its really kind of you to let them do this you know?" i rhetorically ask him.
he looks down at me and smiles. he then said something that i thought i would never hear.
"I'm really proud of you, you came first today." he said, my smile grew ten times and i turned to him before ingulfing him in a hug. he slowly put his arms around me and hugged me back.
time skip
sadly the time at the beach had to come to an end and we had to go home.
as we sat on the bus. someone came and sat next to me.
"hey, um, can we talk?" I knew who it was.
"I know this might come across rude and it is the last thing i want to do right now because of how much i miss you but we are in the middle of a bus ride and i would want more privacy to talk about our relationship, so if i can get my family out of the house tomorrow would we be able to talk then?" I ask him. i look up over at him and he has a small smile on his face.
"that sounds amazing." he says.
so this is another chapter, also fare warning i have written another chapter after this one but.... i have written smut. so if that is something you guys would like to see in this story let me know. or if it is something that you dont want i can rewrite another one. I'm on the edge if i should just post the chapter or not but its up to you. let me know.
