6 - The Thoughts of The Lead Singer

Another day, another song to write.

I yawn and stretch.

As I get up, I begin walking to the bathroom to get ready.

I decide to check out my canines after I brush my teeth.

"See, my canines are pretty sharp, aren't they?" I say to myself.

Suddenly, my phone rings as I'm getting dressed. I quickly change and answer the phone.

"Hi!" Someone says.

I didn't bother to read the contact name since I knew who called, telling by the voice.

"Hey Ruby! Do ya need something?" I asked. "N-no. I was g-gonna head fo the park. W-wanna come?" She asked. "Sure!" I replied. "I gotta eat. Cya!" I say. I hang up.

My phone gently gets place on my bed. Suddenly, my stomach growls louder than usual.

"Time to feed you, big guy." I say as I gently tap my stomach. I then laugh at my stupid comment.

I grab some money after eating just in case I wanna buy something after I get back. I quickly slip on my shoes and head over to the park.

You can spot Ruby in the distance since she's literally on her phone.

"Hey Ruby! Watcha doin'?" I asked as I try to peek at what she's doing. "Oh-! Hi. I was playing a game..-" She said. "Oh. Can I play?" I asked. "Yeah!" She replied.

She told me the game she was playing and we both played.

After a while, I get a text from Keith/The Boyfriend. He claims that he's gonna get ice cream.

"Give me a second Ruby." I say. I scroll through my contacts and click on Y/n's contact. I call her.

The phone rings. After a few seconds, she picks up. "Ahoy, matey!" Y/n says with a pirate-y voice. I laugh. "Ahoy. I wanted to ask you if..." I began. "If..." I repeat. "If?" Y/n also repeats.

"If I can get ice cream with y'all?" I finally say. "What about Ruby?" Y/n asks.

As if Ruby was eavesdropping, which she probably was, her head jolts up when her name is mentioned.

"Oh yeah! She's here with me." I said.

"Why was my name m-mentioned?" Ruby asks. "Keith said Y/n and Miku are going to get ice cream." I reply. "Oh okay.-" She said.

"Is there enough for me and Ruby?" I asked. "Yup!" Y/n replied "Great! Me and Ruby are at the park." I said. "Alright. Cya later!" She said. "Cya." I replied.

I hang up. (Kid named 'up': ;-; )

"Let's play a little bit more while we wait!" I said. Ruby nods and smiles as we continue to play the game.

Me and Ruby's head jolt up when we hear our names. It was Y/n. I could tell by their sweet voice.

"So, what flavor are you gonna get Ruby?" I asked. "I don't know yet... What a-about you?" She asked. "I don't know yet either! I guess I'll have to make a last minute decision." I replied. She nods.

I open the car door for Ruby. She hops in the car and I hop in soon after.

"So, how was your bonding?" I asked. "It was fun! And very yummy... Some dude gave Y/n their phone number though." Miku said. I sit there quite surprised.

Some guy gave Y/n their number?

"BEEP- Shit- I mean LOOK!!" Keith screams.

Y/n makes a harsh turn to avoid a accident with another car.

"What the flip, Y/n?!" I exclaimed. "Sorry! I was thinking about something." She said.

The thought of the guy giving their number to Y/n bothers me for some reason. I decided to try to get information about the guy.

"Psst! Miku!" I whispered. "Huh-?" She said in confusion. "What did this guy look like-?" I asked. She had this nervous but smug look on her face.

"I uh... Took a photo of him." She replied. I sat there in shock. She took a PHOTO?

She took out her phone and showed me the picture.

The male was tall. Possibly around the same height as me. He has dark brown hair, and wore a uniform. He also had blue eyes.

"Dang... I got some competition- I mean-." I exclaimed. Miku stared at me and smiled. "Ooo~! Give me your number and I can help you out maybe." She said. I gave her my number and she saved it in her contacts.

Finally, we make it to the ice cream shop!

Everyone gets out of the car. I grab some money. I look at Ruby and she seems confused.

"Thinking about the flavor?" I asked. She nods. "Don't worry! You'll think of something. Don't stress out about it." I said, trying to be comforting.

"I'll just get cookie dough.."

"Alright!"

I'm first to order my ice cream. Then, I sit at a table and eat my ice cream.

I see Y/n ordering her ice cream, then I realize she was about to pay!

If I want her to like me back (which I totally don't) then I gotta be a gentleman and pay for her!

"Y/n- move out of the way!" I exclaim. "What- why?" "Because I'm paying! Duh." I explain. "But I said I was gonna pay- didn't I?" I asked. "I dunno."

"Alright, just let me pay."

"No! Cj, I'm the one who brought us here. I should pay."

"Exactly! You BROUGHT us here! I'll pay for you since you invited me and Ruby."

"Let's just split."

"Fine."

So me and Y/n both split the money.

I feel bad for the employee having to watch the whole thing.
