Nights without him felt so long,
and the shadow of his warmth still remained on your bed.
We all know that today's world is much tougher, much more challenging. Everything is developing rapidly and it feels like we have to keep growing and work harder because we don't want to be left behind. The demands of life go hand in hand with the necessities of life that are increasing, even more expensive.
Being an adult was hard, especially nowadays. And this was the time you finally had to live it.
You threw yourself on the bed, taking a deep breath after a long day at the office. Office work was driving you crazy, luckily your boss was kind enough to let you take your baby to your room.
Your baby ?
You look at the crib, a precious treasure you'd only had for four months. You smiled when you saw him, your baby, sleeping while moving his lips. You giggled, as if he was dreaming.
Your body that felt almost crushed was always healed just by looking at his face. He was everything to you, this was why you worked harder and didn't take longer days off. You wanted to help your husband, Minho, who was also working hard to provide everything for your little family.
Ah, thinking of your husband being out of town on business for a few days made you miss him even more. You were not sure when he'd be home, either today or tomorrow. You were very excited to welcome him home, your smile was etched thinking about what food would be cooked tomorrow.
"Humm rice, noodles, pasta, stir-fry vegetables, fried chicken, what should I cook?" You mumbled while looking for something on your phone, "I think I'll try this recipe- uh-"
The small sobs of your little angel gradually grew bigger, making you immediately throw your phone on the bed and run towards him.
You carried him, humming a song to calm him down. But he didn't stop, his tears kept rolling down on his mochi cheeks.
Oh, was he-
"You hungry, hm?" you said while sitting on the bed.
You smiled then unbuttoned your pyjamas, letting him eat his favourite food voraciously.
Your laughter filled the room. He was really adorable. His small mouth and puffy cheeks every time he drank made your tiredness disappear. Breastfeeding had been your favourite activity these months.
It felt so heavenly, holding him to your chest and giving him life. You saw your whole world in his eyes.
After he finished, his mouth smiled happily, starting to babble incoherently as if wanting to say 'thank you'. His eyes gleamed at you then the little mouth tried to grab your breast again. Apparently he was still hungry, so cute.
If Minho were here, he would definitely laugh too.
"Daddy should see this cute face of yours," You said while stroking his cheek, "Mommy loves y-"
"-I love you too."
"M-Minho?"
You looked back, widening your eyes as you saw Minho walked up to you with his sleeves rolled up. Your husband's appearance could never fail to make you out of your mind. He was so damn fine.
"I'm home."
You smiled when you received a kiss on the lips with a back hug. He nuzzled against your shoulder, smelling your scent that he hadn't felt for days.
