meeting you (fluff)

george lugged his suitcases out of the trunk of the taxi, glancing over his shoulder as he watched the car now fade out of his view. he swallowed the lump in his throat and grabbed the handles of his bags, pulling them up the walkway towards the massive, dark wooden door.

was it too late to rethink this?

"pleeeeassseee?" dream begged, jutting his bottom lip into a pout for george to see. george tilted the phone so that his face was out of view, rolling his eyes and scoffing at the childish ways of the blonde, trying not to think of the blush he could feel creeping onto his ears and cheeks.

"come on george!" the smaller heard sapnap yell from behind dream, a giggle prominent in his voice.

george had only been joking when he mentioned taking a flight to florida to live with sapnap and dream. he wanted to watch dream frown at his rejection, wanted to laugh at sapnap's groan of disappointment. instead, he had just gotten himself stuck in a mess.

"i don't know, guys. flights are expensive and on top of that, moving is a lot of work," george explained with a sigh, though he was genuinely considering the idea. their fans had been wanting a dream team house for the longest time, and who was george to deny them of the content?

but it wasn't that simple.

george couldn't even look at dream without butterflies bursting their way through his chest. dream didn't just make george feel comfortable, dream made george feel loved. and don't get the wrong idea, sapnap loved george just as much as dream did. but it was a different love. sapnap was... a platonic love. the feelings that george and dream shared (though neither of them had confessed it to one another,) could only be described as something far from platonic.

"what if you just live in our guest bedroom? that'll save you the bed, dresser, etcetera," dream suggested, clearly persistent on the idea of george coming to live with them. it actually wasn't a terrible plan, george decided, he would only need to pack his essentials, clothes, and whatever knickknacks he wanted to bring to decorate the room before they could really go shopping. george hummed in thought.

"maybe," he finally responded. "i'll think about it."

that had dream practically squealing with joy, flopping himself over on his shared bed with sapnap and grabbing the raven-haired boy up in a hug.

"dream team house, let's goooo!"

george's face quickly contorted into something resembling a frown. saying he was nervous would be a massive understatement. he was worried about living in the same house as someone he could hardly stand to be around, it was hard not to want to kiss dream every time george saw him. george didn't know how long he could last living with dream.

but he was willing to chance it.

before he could process what was happening, he brought his dainty hand up and knocked quietly on the door. he waited a few seconds to see if he could hear footsteps, though inside the house, all was quiet.

george's stomach churned nervously. what if he had come the wrong day? the wrong time? what if they didn't really want to see him? what if-

the door swung open, george's face meeting with what seemed to be a bright yellow hoodie, one anyone would recognize (even if you were colorblind) as dream's hoodie.

"george!" george heard dream shout, gasping as he was brought into an embrace. dream smelled of lavender and vanilla, and george immediately melted into his touch, though he wasn't necessarily used to physical affection. dream swiveled around and plopped george onto the hardwood floor inside of the entryway, flashing him a smile. george's face flushed a bright red.

"hi dream." he's even more handsome in real life, george realized quickly.

"sapnap!" dream called excitedly, wrapping one of his arms firmly around the brit's shoulders. "sapnap, george is here!"

george heard the clomping of feet come from down the stairs, grinning widely as he was met with the gaze of an overzealous sapnap.

"OH MY GOD IT'S GEORGE!" sapnap screamed, running over to george to grab him up in a tight bear hug. george chuckled and hugged sapnap back, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. this was already even better than he had expected.

the next few hours were simply spent on chatting it up. though they talked over discord and facetimes almost daily, the three felt that catching up in real life was different. they could talk face to face, though george had to watch more closely to what he was saying so that he didn't give anything away.

"so, how are you liking florida so far?" dream asked, tilting his head at the brunette. george shrugged, letting out a small noise.

"dunno, haven't been here long enough to check everything out."

"it's dreadfully hot," sapnap grunted dramatically, sarcastically draping his forearm over his eyes to shield himself from the annoyed gazes of the other two men.

"you'll get used to the heat," dream acknowledged, playfully slapping sapnap on his arm, earning a glare from the man.

"honestly it's a beautiful state. kinda miss london though," george admitted, fiddling anxiously with his fingers in his lap. he did miss london, honestly. he had already noticed how different florida was from his home.

he isn't a fan of new things, staying mostly to his normal routine, so for him to do something like this was outlandish and way out of his comfort zone. he was willing to try, but being away from where he was comfortable was worrying.

"i get that," dream said with a smile, a small sigh escaping his lips. "sapnap and i have lived here for years upon years, so i get how it can be different for you." george nodded.

"but i promise, sapnap and i will do our best to make you feel at home."

george smiled warmly at dream, nodding his head. "thank you."
