Y/n's POV:

The rest of the month had flown by and before we knew it snow had started to cover the grounds, the lake was frozen and the fireplaces were lit. Christmas had arrived as well as Uncle Jes' birthday, luckily I was able to get him something small before I came to Hogwarts. Professor McGonagall had come round last week asking students who would be staying at Hogwarts and who wouldn't. Harry, Ron and the Weasley's wrote down their names while Hermione and I would be taking the train back to London. With snow arriving Fred and George found new ways to prank teachers such as throwing snowballs at Quirrell's head and pretending to know nothing if he turned around.

The day had come when the Hogwarts Express would be taking students back home, I was already packed and had my things beside me along with Aristotle's empty cage watching Harry and Ron play Wizards chess.

"Queen to E5.", Ron commanded. The queen followed the order as it moved to the spot picked up its chair and shattered one of Harry's knights with it.

"That's totally Barbaric!", Hermione said directing our attention to her with her trunks next to her.

"That's Wizard's chess.", Ron stated. "See you've packed."

"See you haven't.", Hermione countered. Hermione then looked at me, "oh, Y/n you're going back?", she asked.

"Yeah, my family always have a big celebration at Christmas as one of my uncles have it on the same day I sort of promised I'd go back home this year.", I explained as I got up and gathered my things together standing beside Hermione.

"Change of plans my parents are going to Romania to visit my brother Charlie, he studies dragons.", Ron answered her.

"Good you can help Harry then. You two can keep on looking for Nicholas Flamel.", She spoke with authority.

"We've looked a hundred times!", Ron complained. "Not in the restricted section. Happy Christmas", she replied before beginning to exit the castle.

"Good luck guys.", I said as I followed Hermione to the Hogwarts express.

As we reached the station I awed at the red and black locomotive, its so amazing seeing it on the ground compared to seeing it in the sky. Aristotle finally returned as I began to board the train brining his cage with me as Hermione and I looked for an empty compartment.

Once finally finding one we sat down and began to relax, I released Aristotle as he shook his wings stretching them as far as he could before perching himself on one of the empty seats. During the train ride Hermione and I spoke more about ourselves while I tried my best not to give away that she was sitting next to an angel, Hermione was surprised to say the least on the amount of aunt and uncles I had in my family and I learned more about her parents such as them being dentists and how they were adjusting to the Wizarding world.

Soon enough the train pulled into Kings cross station, Platform 9 and three quarters, we collected our trunks from the train put them on trolleys and began to search for our parents. I was the first to spot mine as Dad was dressed in a three piece black suit with a red shirt accompanying him was Big sis Maze who wore one of her previous presents from me a black woolly jumper with a turtle neck along with tight black jeans and boots. Waving over to them they finally spotted me as I began to introduce Hermione to the two of them.

"Hermione, this is my Dad and Big sis Mazikeen.", I said motioning to the two.

"I-its a pleasure to meet you both.", Hermione stuttered lightly it was unusual to see this other side of her a less confident and timid Hermione.

Dad seemed to have caught on to her nervousness, "No need to be nervous," he stated before motioning to Maze who had her usual scowl on. "This is her resting face.", Dad joked causing Hermione to finally laugh before spotting her parents as they came over to greet us.
