It felt like my heart was tearing into two... again.

Imala began to whimper and I could do nothing to comfort her. I don't know how long I stood there and watched my ex mate make out with some whore on the kitchen counter. I didn't even register the fact that I was being dragged away by a pissed off Armani and shoved into the car until we were speeding down the dimly lit roads.

He rejected me right? So why was I still so affected by what he does?

'He may have rejected us, but we haven't rejected him.'

'What do I do Imala? I can't go back and reject him, Armani would never let me and it would take up too much time. You know we have to leave tonight or we'll never get another chance.'

'There is another way Lea.'

'I know.'

Our link cut off as we pulled into my drive-way. Armani put the car in park and cut the engine before getting out of the car and slamming the door. I got out of the car more softly and followed Mani to the door of my house. She realised that the door was locked and that she didn't have a key so I fished mine out of my pockets and handed it to her - the stubborn girl wouldn't move out of the way.

When she got the door unlocked and swung it open, she dropped the keys in the designated key bowl and stormed up the stairs to my room. After checking that the door was locked and placing my hat on the coat rack, I too made my way to my attic. There I found Armani furiously pacing and so I silently sat myself on the bed and watched her steam for what must've been a full five minutes. I couldn't help but be amused at the fact that she was more worked up about it than I am.

"Ugh! Can you believe that disgusting pig?" She screeched, still wearing a whole into the creaky floorboards.

"Mani, it's not that big of a deal" I tried to reassure her, but truthfully, I was internally hurting.

"Not that big of a deal?! He's supposed to be your mate! How can someone like you be paired with someone like him for all of eternity..." I began to block out her ranting and thought about what she had just said.

He was supposed to be my mate but instead of owning up and taking the responsibility of one, he decided to reject me and continue his lifestyle of fooling around with girls. He and I were polar opposites. Where I had standards when it comes to the person that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with, his are completely thrown out of the window as soon as a girl flashes him a bit more than what is socially acceptable. But still, it seems that we were meant to be together. Were.

I felt a dip in the bed and found myself face-to-face with a now calm Armani. Without a second thought, I immediately rested my head against her shoulder and shut my eyes. I let myself have this little piece of normality before I left, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Her head rested against mine and no words were exchanged in the dim attic.

After a while, I lifted my head which inevitably raised hers and I took a deep breath. Much like in the shop, I grasped her hands in mine and stared right into her piercing grey eyes that I noticed were watery.

"Mani, it's time for me to go" I said weakly, my lip quivering.

"Do you have to?" She whispered.

I only smiled and hugged her in a death grip which she reciprocated with the same force.

"Take care of the shop okay?" I murmured into her neck while she sobbed. I too was sobbing and our shoulders shook.

We finally pulled apart and we laughed.
