Error's POV

As Error trotted through the woods, he couldn't help but wonder what else was up with this multiverse. He may be a god but he was one that had no knowledge of this world and he was currently taking care of two small children, both of whom had no magical control.

As more time passed by, the sun could be seen peeking over the top of the trees. Relief washed over Error as they were slowly bathed in sunlight.

If the sun was up, it meant that he could return home. However, the scarred skeleton lost track of which direction they came in so it was unknown how they would get back. By this time, Paperjam and Gradient were drifting off to sleep.

Just looking at their sleepy faces was enough to bring a smile to Error's face. However, that happy little moment soon came to an end when a twig snapped, too close for comfort. Clutching his children close, he dropped to a defensive stance, slowly scanning his surroundings. "Whoever's there," he called out. "Show yourself!"

Some bushes to his left began to rustle. Careful not to make a noise, Error slowly set down his children, and anxiously drew his strings, their blue color humming with power. He could feel the threads tighten around something, signaling that someone was indeed hiding in the bushes.

Yanking back his threads, Error soon found himself facing . . . Blue!? No . . . this only seemed to be his friend's counterpart, not the skeleton himself

This 'Blue' seemed to be a type of guard, being dressed in chainmail armor and wearing a plumed helmet. Feeling something wet and warm dripping on his hand, Error looked down to see thick, crimson blood pooling beneath the skeleton.

The main injury seemed to be located beneath his undershirt. Before he even knew it, Error was kneeling beside the look-alike of his friend. Gripping the bottom of his dress, the glitch began ripping strips of cloth off the bottom of his dress. Carefully lifting up the skeleton's shirt, Error saw large cracks winding their way across his ribs.

"What the h*ll happened to Blu-. . . this sans?" he muttered. It pained Error's heart as he nearly spoke Blue's name. The skeleton, even though they weren't his best friend, still looked nearly identical to him.

Curse Fate for barely giving him any free time! Anyway, as he bandaged the mutilated ribcage, Error's thoughts began to run wild.

They ranged from memories of home, the kind villagers, and, oddly enough, the vampire king. The glitch just couldn't help but think about the tall skeleton, with his royal blue markings and powerful presence.

He couldn't be falling for his counterpart, right? That would be absurd! Still, Error flushed at the thought, yellow standing out greatly against coal-colored bones. He was soon broken from his thoughts when the skeleton before him started shifting, signaling that he was going to wake very soon.

Quickly backing away, Error nestled down next to the now asleep Paperjam and Gradient, waiting for 'Blue'  to wake up. After a moment or two, the skeleton awoke. As he sat up, Error could see fear in his eye sockets as he looked around wildly.

Soon he caught sight of the glitch and seemed to calm down a bit, but confusion was now evident in his eyes.

"Who are you?" he questioned. The ex-destroyer paused for a moment  before replying, "I am usually called many things but you can call me Error." The skeleton was silent for a moment before nervously answering. "My . . . my name is Azure. Wh-what happened?"

Error hesitated before responding. "I found you in the bushes with a crushed ribcage." Azure sharply inhaled. They were both silent for a while after. Eventually, the glitch stood up and stooped down to pick up Gradient and PJ. As he straightened, Error noticed Azure staring at him and his family.

Raising an 'eyebrow', the onyx-colored skeleton looked at him with a confused look. As if reading his expression, Azure asked, "Isn't it too dangerous to raise kids in the woods?" Error was silent for a while, trying to come up with an answer. Eventually, he just decided to tell the truth.

"My family and I were attacked by a vampire in the middle of the night. We've been trying to find our way back all morning."

A shocked expression made its way onto the lighter's face. "How did you make it out without any help!?" The darker skeleton paused once again, trying to come up with a good fib to tell the guard. "I-uh, well . . . I ran very fast?"

Thankfully, Azure seemed to accept that answer and didn't dig any further into the matter. By this time, the sun was high in the sky and Error's children were playing in the nearby meadow. Also, the armored skeleton now was able to stand and walk, having recovered enough strength over the hours.

"Welp, I need to get back to my hometown, would you mind accompanying me?" Having nowhere else to go, Error accepted his offer. With his children in tow, the glitch followed the guard into the woods, heading North.

As they walked, the god noticed something he had not before. Far off in the distance, you could just hear the bustling noises of a high-functioning village, possibly being run by a lord.

More minutes passed by, and the noise was noticeably getting louder. After a few more steps, the small party exited the woods only to enter a large village, full of humans and monsters alike. That very fact froze Error to the bone (pun intended) because he had haphephobia.

As he was trying to calm his nerves, Azure started speaking to someone behind his back. Turning to see who it was, Error's body turned cold. It was Ink. No . . . Ink was in a different multiverse, far away from him. The skeleton he was facing may be his counterpart, but they had different personalities. "Error, I'd like you to meet Encre, a very good friend of mine!"
