the time has come to say goodbye to this book, the characters, and the plotline that I've grown to love SO damn much over the past year of my life...
the story of Charlie Hawthorne was conceived out of a COVID-induced boredom, and I will be the first to admit that I would have never, ever dreamed that it would receive such an overwhelming following. this is the first fanfic I've ever completely finished, and that's simply because I felt like I owed not only myself but all of you the ending of a story that would encompass everything we'd hoped for out of HP fanfic.
I've loved to write since I was a little girl, but I never thought I could've created something that people could enjoy so much. BWL changed my life. this project manifested itself out of a fun, thrilling idea of putting Hermione with someone other than Ron, and since then, it has blossomed into something far greater than I think anyone could have ever imagined.
honestly, I didn't — and still don't — think I deserve any of the love and support each of you have continued to show me throughout this long and tumultuous process. at the time I'm writing this, BWL is very close to 500k views, and this fact alone brings tears to my eyes. whether you've been here since the beginning, the middle, or the end, please know that without you and your support for this fanfic, none of this would've been possible.
but all good things must come to an end. it's been a long and wild ride, complete with slow updates and my annoying overuse of the 👀 emoji — which I'm sorry for btw loll — but I can honestly say that I'm proud of everything we have accomplished throughout it.
