We walked in silence as we enter a convenience store, I was surprised when he opened the door seeming like a gentleman.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" I realized I've been deadpanned on the kindness he did. I looked up to him and walked beside him.

"Sorry" I said afraid of saying something that will make me embarassed.

"Sorry for what?"

"Nothing"

"Then why say sorry?"

I just ignored him I'm too tired to argue or start a conversation with a person I barely even know. After  minutes of silence and sitting on a chair inside the store, he finally asked me:

"Do you even know how to speak?" What's wrong with him with me not talking to him? It's my decision not to talk.

"Do you even know how to shut up?" I answered convicingly as I saw his eyes widen with thoughts. He might not know what's up with me.

"Unbelievable, Allison, unbelievable" he looked at me and raised both hands and looked down, then looked at me, again.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I'm exhausted and irritated talking to this guy.

"I asked you if you want some companion, and you said yes but, it seems like you don't want to talk" he looked straight to me, expressionless, he must be tired too.

"I just-"

"Fine, if you don't want to talk, let's just eat ramen" he took my right hand and made our way to the food section. There's something weird about Ashton that made you want to smile, I can't tell if it's his annoyingness or his charming side.

As we made our way to the counter, the cashier looked annoyed to us. "What the hell are you two teenagers doing at this store at exactly 1am? Running away from your parents huh? Bad idea" the cashier said and made me jump into some conclusions, same to Ashton.

"Oh no, we're not. We're just hungry but, you might ask this young lady beside me, she's my neighbor and I saw her walking down the street and she hates when I ask questions, she's always annoyed, she's in my grade too, funny isn't it? What a funny life?" Ashton said to the cashier, laughing or sarcastically laughing.

The cashier just looked at us and handed the change to Ashton. "Take her home now, you don't want your girlfriend's parents get mad at you" the cashier said which made me cringed.

Ashton didn't answer and just walked back to the sitting area, I followed him and sat beside him. He looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows and then looked again to his ramen "You're not going to tell me what's up with you?"

"I just, I- don't want to talk about it"  I said at this point I'm sort of just wanted to be alone and not talk about it.

"Clues?"  This is Ashton Irwin, he does everything to make you open up something that you don't want to say.

"Ashton, no"

"Come on, it's just the two of us, I promise I won't say anything or mock or laugh at you" he keeps on reaching his achievement to lose my nerves again

"Why are you so interested to me?" I asked him with no regrets, I don't care if he mocks me at this point, I just want to know what's up to him questioning about my life.

"Because, you're this shy girl in my English class and you're so kind and everybody likes you because you're smart but I know there's something up to you especially, at this time I saw you walking down the streets looking lost at your thoughts, I'm telling you Allison take that mask off" he smiled to me and it eventually vanished.

I've never saw this side of him being so kind and thoughtful. He's always the Ashton we knew, an asshole, lazy, arrogant guy I knew for so many years and I don't know if I should trust him.

"If I speak, would you hold unto me?"
