Dragon Ball Repentance

Part 2: Tournament Arc!

It has been one year since Destroyer and Shai have met, and during that year they had grown closer as both friends and rivals. One day, they hear the news about the 24th Tenkaichi Budokai's start date, which was one month from then. Since that day, they had been training non-stop to see who would come out as the champion in this tournament of fighters.

Shai: "Hey, Destroyer! Get up already, the tournament starts in 4 hours! We need to get there now to register and stuff like that."

Destroyer: "I've been awake for the past few hours, I've been in here waiting on you."

"Oh."

"Let's get a move on, shall we?" Destroyer says as the pair fly off into the distance. 5 minutes later and they're already at the tournament grounds, looking to register.

3 hours later.

"Finally, we registered. I was right to come early."

"Yeah yeah, I know. Get ready, because you spent all that time just to lose."

"Hm. You're talking a lot for someone who's going to be eliminated quickly."

??????: "Will you two quiet down? You're making a racket."

"Yeah fine. What's your name, I assume you're participating in the tournament as well?"

"I'm Reaver, and I'll be fighting her." He says, pointing at Shai."

"Good luck, she's feisty."

"I believe I can handle her."

Announcer: "First match's fighters come onto the arena!"

A few fights later.

"Fourth match's fighters Reaver and Shai, please come onto the arena. This is the semifinals, there's a lot at stake here!"

The 2 fighters make their way onto the arena and assume their fighting stance.

Reaver: "I hope you're ready."

Shai: "As do I."

Announcer: "Ready... BEGIN!"

The crowd roars as the 2 fighters charge towards eachother, clashing in the middle. They seem to disappear and re-appear as they clash, flying around the arena. Reaver dodges one of Shai's heavy punches and counters with a punch to the stomach and a downwards kick.

Shai flies towards the ground, but just as she's about to impact, Reaver flies below her with a beam powered up. Yelling out in exertion he fires the beam, pushing her away from him with a mighty force. The beam explodes in a fantastic burst of light. As the dust settles, everyone can see that Shai, injured, is out of the ring.

"AAND WHAT A FINISH! THAT WRAPS UP OUR LAST SEMIFINALS FIGHT, FINALS COMMENCE IN 15 MINUTES!" The crowd roars as Reaver approaches Shai. 

"You alright?"

"I'll live."

"Alright."

After the short exchange, Reaver heads back to rest and prepare with his fight for Destroyer, and Destroyer does the same.

The finals are underway, as Reaver and Destroyer are both facing eachother, in their fighting stances.

"It's a shame you beat Shai, I was looking forward to that match. Guess I'll just beat you instead."

"You won't find it so easy to defeat me."

"Oh yeah?" Destroyer responds as he dashes in and out, making afterimages. He continues to strike Reaver again and again, until he uses a large burst of energy, knocking the real Destroyer back and dissipating the afterimages.

"Not a bad counter."

"Your damn afterimages were getting annoying."

"Come at me then."

As Reaver walks forward, he steps on something that begins to glow.

"A mine?" He goes to say more but is cut off by the ring around him exploding in a brilliant flash of blue energy. Once the smoke clears, Reaver dashes through, hitting Destroyer square in the chest before following up with several rapid strikes, then a Death Beam. Destroyer fires a blast at the ground, catapulting himself out of the way of the beam and onto the ring.

"This fight seems like it's going to be more difficult then I anticipated."

"Touché." Reaver says, before firing a volley of ki blasts. Destroyer forced into the defensive begins dodging. As he's dodging Reaver is closing the distance, before the ground underneath his feet explode.

"What the hell was that?"

"Those were more mines." Destroyer elaborated: "I planted them while I was dodging, and used my momentum to launch them towards you."

He finishes speaking before appearing behind Reaver and wrapping his arm around his neck, before firing a bunch of ki blasts point blank, finishing with a beam that knocks Reaver onto the ground. Reaver recovers as the pair throw their strongest attacks at eachother, causing the arena to shake and crack. The crowd roaring in excitement as the 2 finally showcase their full power.

(That concludes this part, there will be one more detailing the end of the fight. If anyone wants to see anything in the story, comment it and I'll see if I can work it in. I'd like to maybe incorporate other's characters, so if you want me to add those comment with some details about the character. If I like it, I'll see if I can squeeze them in as a background or side character. Hoping to get part 3 out by next Monday, I think I can do it so expect that soon!)
