Rue POV

Lexi thought about that night a lot. How could Fezco be so kind to her and so violent towards Nate. She couldn't remember the last time someone her age asked her so many questions about herself. He actually cared about what she had to say and then 10 minutes later... almost beat Nate Jacobs to death. Even if Nate deserved it, it was a horrible thing to do. Made her think about her entire life.
How she's always been so passive. How she never had the courage to say anything and even the time when she did get the courage to say something.

She back down.

So after a couple of days after Cal came over, she decided to say something.

Lexi POV

The bell rang and I grabbed my backpack to head out of the classroom. History was finally finished and now I can head on home to study. While I was walking to the hallway, I spotted Nate eyeing at me as he past me. Cassie went with Maddie and Kat somewhere and decided to hang out all three of them.
My mind took me back to the night of New Year's Eve. Fezco talking to me and how we started our conversation pretty smoothly. It was just normal and casual like.. he knew what to say to me. I headed out of the school building and grabbed my bike out of the rail. I hopped on and rode out on the sidewalk.

My phone rings. "Hey Mom."

"Hi sweetie, just letting you know that I won't be home until later, late at night around three or two."

"Oh, what about Cassie then?"

"Your sister decided to stay over at Maddie's house so I'm going to pick her stuff up and drop it off before I head back to work."

"So.. I'm all alone?"

"Will that be okay?"

"Uhm, sure.. why not. I mean it's just for one night right?"

"Yes one night, that's all I ask."

"Ok.. I'll see you later then."

"I love you hun!" The line hangs up. Great, now I'm all alone in the house and I just wanted a peaceful night but not like this. I can't handle being alone by myself, not tonight. Whatever, I'll just head over to the gas station and meet Fezco there.

He'll probably be happy to see me..

•••

I rode through my bike into the road that lead me to the gas station. The place was showing up so I sneaked behind the building to fix myself a bit. My heart thumped fast every minute I took a step to head into the direction of the door. For a few second I flipped my hair back and took a deep breath before walking in. There he was.

"Lexi Howard." He said in a way of happiness.

"H-hi." I fold both of my hands behind my back.

"How you doin." He slightly smiled. I stood in-front of him while fez sat on top of the cooler..

"G-good, I-" as I walked a little bit to the side, a girl that I didn't know who she was was sitting behind him. My breathing hitched. Why did I even bother to try..

"Hi, I'm Faye." She waved happily.

"I'm lexi." I looked to him and casually smiled. "Uhm, are you guys..?" Together? Just say it and get out of here. It's obvious that he isn't interested.

"Yea, No, she's just stayin with me for a bit. But she's cool tho." He just halfway smiled probably knowing something is going on. "W-what brings you out here?" He asked me.

"O-oh, I just came here to get a drink." I nod and turned my back on his slowly as I look through the drinks inside of the cold vent. It quickly gotten silence and awkward. Through the doors I could see his brother behind sitting there, looking at me weirdly.

"Okay.. well, we got plenty of those. Uhm, do you need help finding anything? He asked.

"No I'm okay." I said.

"Oh uh, that's the malt liquor." He told me.

"Yeah I know.." I mumbled.

Suddenly, Nate's dad comes into the shop. My heart pounds quicker than ever. I took a quick glanced as I caught him looking at me, making me look away. Slowly I walked over to the other aisle and tried to stay away. Hopefully Fez does something.

"Yo sorry I didn't get to say goodbye on New Years." Fezco said.

"Good evening." He said and continued his moment here.

"Sup man." He said while looking at him. It was just intense at this moment. Fezco looked at Ash behind the refrigerator while the moment was still intended.

"Do you have any experiment gum?" He asked.

"Ion man, the gum is over there." He kept his eyes forward. Mr Jacob came to my direction and I walked to another aisle and stayed there.

"This your store?" He sounded annoyed.

"It's a family business." Fezco has his eyes straight forward. Nothing seemed to change now. He came in my direction and my breathing hitched. I couldn't move not one bit or anything as I looked down.

"Your parents own it?" He asked.

"Do you ask this many questions man?" Fezco has enough. Mr Jacob left the aisle and went to the cash register to pay for whatever he grabbed from the shelve.

"It's just you, should I tell you who I am?" He stood there, boldly to ask.

"Nah man." Fezco said and it was silenced for a moment.

"Are you a cop?" Faye asked.

"No." He said. His hand was in his pocket, I heard a click or something int here. Everybody was just silenced and I just kept looking at him. Ash quickly grabbed the cereal box and took the gun out of it. Loading and preparing it.

With a relief, he just took out a twenty dollar bill and placed it on the counter top. "Just a concerned father." He said and then walked out of the store. Fezco kept his eyes sternly to Mr Jacobs until he left out of the here.

Lexi placed her hand on her chest. Feeling the fast heart beat when she thought, this would be the last toe
