It was a day like any other, or so I thought.
I began cooking dinner for Teucer. I had decided upon a simple meal, honeyed boar meat, as I knew he enjoyed the sweetness of the meat. Dad has brought in boar the day prior. I had cut it up into two pieces, about (half a meter cubed each) and stuck a pointed spear through it, and defrosted it on top of the fire.
Mum and dad have been lured by the smell and came to keep me company in the kitchen, pouring me a glass or water. I winced as the freezing cold water slid down my throat, here in Snezhnaya everything was cold. From the frozen boar to the ice cold water.
"Don't worry Sonia," Dad said, noticing my expression. "Before too long we will be out of here."
My head shot up from the glass.
"What!" I said quickly. The thought of leaving this desolate cold static nightmare sparked something deep within my heart.
Mum looked over to dad. "Should we tell her?" She asked.
"Yes I think we should hon." said Dad nodding solemnly.
I looked back and forth between the two.
"What am I missing here?!" I asked.
"Well," Said mum. "We recently got a letter from Ajax."
"That's the first I've heard of it," I said, sulking slightly. Me and Ajax were close, and yet the letter had not been passed onto me.... I snapped back from my thoughts at mum's next words.
"He has made quite the name for himself abroad, he will soon be paying for our travel to lyuie, he insists that that's where will live, and who are we do disagree!"
She looked expectantly at me, but I could only stare in shock. "Oh apparently he has something very important to tell us...." My eyes narrowed at that particular bit of information. Ajax is my brother, and out of all my siblings he is the one I'm closest to. We had shared many secrets, and even though he wanted to protect me and keep me safe, he didn't treat me like a helpless little girl. So the news he had something important to tell us worried me, it must be very serious if he hadn't told me.....
Despite the nagging feeling at the back of my mind that smth might be wrong, I was very happy to leave
