A Glow From A Shadow

Chapter 4: First Encounter

Tails controls the ship as it glides through space to find the missing chaos emeralds. He has many holographic maps up to see if the nearest planet to find the first chaos emerald was anywhere nearby. Once he spots a glowing yellow dot on his map, he looks down at Amy and Cream. He says, "Get the ship ready to land on the nearest planet!"

Amy salutes to Tails and begins pressing buttons to help make sure that the ship is going through the atmosphere safely while Cream does the same thing.

Tails forces the ship go through the orbit of the planet as the ship begins to rock from the atmosphere.

The ship rocked and shook which has caused everyone to grab onto something. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming them as it continued to shake before a smooth and crisp air welcomed the ship. Letting it glide through the air as it flies to find a clear landing on the ground below them.

Tails looks around to try and find a landing spot as he hears Chris enters the room with Sonic.

Chris looks at the ground approaching them. He smiles, "Wow! This planet is beautiful!"

Tails nods with a smile, "Yeah!"

Sonic doesn't smile as he knows that him, Shadow, and Silver would be doing most of the searching for the emerald on this planet. He turns around and heads off to find the other 2 hedgehogs. He stops after trying to find the 2 hedgehogs when he sees Shadow on the floor holding onto his head. Not wanting to get closer, his feet started to move.

Sonic was a few feet away from Shadow, "You alright?"

Shadow looks up at Sonic before hobbling onto his feet, "I... I am fine, faker."

Sonic looks away and begins to walk around him, "We are landing onto the ground soon. You should be fine by the time ship lands, right?"

Shadow holds onto his head, "Yeah."

Sonic nods and heads off. Leaving Shadow to recover from whatever has happened to him.

Shadow looks down at the ground to regain what just happened. It felt like his lungs have gotten air inside of them for the first time and it wasn't the good kind either. He became so lightheaded that he forgot what it was like to breathe. He looks up to see that no one was around him until he turns around to see Silver and Sonic coming back over to him. He stands up straight while trying to ignore his head hurting from the impact that has happened to him not that long ago.

Sonic crosses his arms, "Are you 2 ready to find the emerald?"

Silver pointed out, "As well as the planet egg."

Sonic nods and begins to head out of the ship. Not waiting for an answer as adventure waits for him.

Silver was about to follow Sonic until he stopped. He turns his head over to Shadow, "You are coming?"

Shadow nods and begins to follow Silver out of the ship. They already spotted Sonic running off without them.

Silver shakes his head as his eyes lands onto Amy, Cream, Cheese, Tails, and Chris leaving the ship. He smiles at them, "We will find the emerald, would you guys find the planet egg and return it?"

Tails puts a thumbs up, "You can count on us!"

Silver uses his telekinesis and flies away.

Shadow starts to walk as his legs feel light. As though he is walking on clouds and the water is making his legs no longer feel as though they are made of flesh and bones, but rather jelly. He stops walking as he falls onto his knees. Something isn't right, he never dealt with something like this before. No one was around to help him back onto his feet as he looks up to be greeted with a familiar green hedgehog. He felt an immediate hatred and attempts to get onto his feet.

"Aww... Look at the invincible Shadow the Hedgehog, on the ground being hopeless." Scourge mocks.

Shadow spats at him, "Mock me again and I will rip your eyes out."

Scourge holds up his hands, "Already tried and failed." He turns around and begins to walk away before running up to Shadow to kick him in the stomach. An evil laughter fills the air as Scourge backs up to watch Shadow struggle.

Shadow falls onto the ground and holds onto his stomach. He wishes that whatever is happening to stop so that he can kick Scourge's butt. He glares up at Scourge before attempting to get onto his feet.

"Scourge, what the hell are you doing?" Eggman's voice booms behind Scourge.

Scourge looks behind him to see Eggman flying towards him. He smirks a little, "Having fun."

Eggman glares at Scourge, "We are here for the chaos emeralds. Don't waste your time on this fool."

"Well, this fool is in a critical state." Scourge corrected Eggman.

Eggman examines Shadow and smiles wide. He lifts up a hand, "Bring him. He might be of some usage."

Shadow watches Scourge kick him in the face to knock him out, but in his current state, knocking him out was easier than he expected. His eyes closed as he fell asleep...

Sonic runs around and finds a yellow chaos emerald stuck up in a tree. He runs up the tree to grab it only for Silver to grab it first.

Silver cheers as he floats to the ground for Sonic to run down to greet him. Silver hands the emerald over to Sonic, "Here you go. 1 chaos emerald down, 6 more to go."

"And 7-sol emeralds to go."

Silver nods at Sonic before they look around to find that Shadow has gone missing. Silver stops looking around, "Where is Shadow?"

Sonic shrugs, "First one to find him gets to eat the loser's side lunch!"

"You're on!" Silver flies off to find Shadow as well as Sonic runs off.
