There in the beginning...was a mind.

The mind became sentient, then aware of its existence...from which it desired to learn more.

The mind grew into a child, the child into adolescent, from adolescent into maturity and then on.

The mind traveled its life and knew it was unsatisfied, such was the curse that came from its self awareness. It watched how the animals lived, observing their witless nature, only living and dying as fate permitted.

The mind came across others like itself, equally as unsatisfied as itself was. Some killed, some loved, and some oppressed while others were devoured. The mind watched how the humans lived, observing their morals and lies, with the fear of purgatory always at the center of their being.

Soon the mind passed as quickly it had lived, becoming just like the animals it had watched. With no one too pity, no one to cry. Just its own tears as it closed its eyes one last time.
