The next day passes by rather quickly. Leon and Paul are getting ready for the dance at Leon's house, while Haley and Mia are getting ready together at Mia's place.
Haley asked Mia, "Have you heard anything from Evie about tonight my cute little BFF?"
"No, I haven't. I don't think she's working tonight. But I wouldn't be surprised if she picked up a shift after what happened yesterday."
Haley assured her, "Awe don't worry my sweet little child of mine, I'm sure she'll turn up!"
The blonde looked away and thought, "I hope she shows up. Because if she doesn't, I fear what a certain goody too shoo might try to do to get her to come..."
The four finally finished getting ready and headed out to meet up. The wind was blowing by in Paul's car along with the music blasting. Leon was asking him to close the windows so it wouldn't mess up his hair, telling Paul he was lucky he didn't have to worry about that issue. Paul laughed back. The two were in high spirits on the way there.
Haley and Mia had a similar experience driving there as well. They were both excited, not knowing what to expect. As the girls pulled in the crowded parking lot; they got a text in the group chat. The two girls responded back and got out of the car. After a minute they saw Leon and Paul approaching them. Mia was in shock and awe of what everybody was wearing.
Leon was the first to say something. "Well, what do you think Mia? Pretty rad, right?"
"Oh my!" Mia replied. "You look fantastic Leon! And you look amazing as well Paul!"
"You don't look too bad yourself there Mia, hot damn!" Paul said.
"Ohhhhh Paul," Haley said teasing the boy, "are you blushinggg a little bit maybe?"
Paul's cheeks got red. "Cut it out Haley! I was just saying!" Mia was also blushing as well at Paul's compliment.
Leon looked around and noticed a certain someone wasn't with them. "Oh? No Evie huh? Didn't know if she was coming with you girls or not."
Haley's patience started to decrease. "Oh, don't worry my sweet Leon, I'm sure she'll be here at some point. Why don't the four of us just head in for now and check it out!"
Leon responded, "I mean I guess we could. I'm just kind of worried about her-" Paul smacked Leon on the back of the head.
"Ow! What was that for man?"
"You're doing that thing again bro where you're not paying attention to the people around you," Paul told him just as angry, "what gives?"
"I don't know man, just worried about Evie that's all. What's wrong with that?"
A weird vibe arose between the two, as if it was starting to divide them. Mia began to speak up. "Um, I'm also worried about Evie too. There's something Haley and I should tell-"
Haley suddenly grabbed Leon by the arm and started to drag him inside, calling out, "Yoo-hoo! Paul and Mia keep up if you wanna come dance with us!"
"Haley!" Leon said confused, "What are you doing let go-"
Haley cried out, "We'll see you two inside! Tee-hee."
Paul and Mia started to chuckle. He still looked concerned when he looked over at Mia. He asked her, "Hey Mia, what were you just about to tell us?"
"Um, well..." Mia said.
She began to tell the whole story of the incident that happened with Evie yesterday. She filled Paul in on how Evie felt about everything.
