SUN & MOON X ABUSED CHILD READER (PLATONIC)

You held onto your older sibling's hand as they guided you through the entrance of the pizzaplex. Having already spent 10 minutes outside just staring up at the gigantic building with stars in your eyes. You came from a rather poor family and had a toxic and abusive household comprising your parents and your older sibling.

Not wanting you to be left alone with your parents, they brought you to work with them. You'd stay in the daycare till their shift ended and then go back home with them. They had gotten a lifetime free family pass for just bothering to work in the rather volatile environment. They gently grab onto both of your hands as they stoop down in front of the slide to the daycare.

"Remember, no fighting or hurting the other kids. And if you get hurt, go to Sun. He'll fix you right up!"

They flashed you a beaming smile before kissing both of your cheeks and placing your backpack on your shoulders.

"Alright... Sib.. I'll try.."

Having sat down on the slide, you pushed down it and closed your eyes. The sounds of kids yelling and the daycare theme song booming over the speakers made you as happy as you could be, with the bruises from that morning stinging at you. Landing rather roughly into the ball pit, you let out a yelp and try to right yourself before abruptly being picked up by Sun and spun around.

"Ho ho ho! Hello, there Friend! We're going to have so much fun today!"

His voice trailed off before picking back up with even more vigour as he bounced around with you in his arms

"We can finger paint... and do Puppet shows! Oo oo! I have some new glow in the dark glitter glue to show you!!"

His rays spun as he hugged you tighter to his chest. You heard what he had said but were stuck wondering how he was so soft. The answer had always eluded you since the first time you met him. You rubbed your chin with your hands in a pondering manner before nodding to him and flashing a quaint smile. Sun looked down at you with an ever-growing smile on his face.

"They smiled! Moony, they smiled! I've never seen them smile before!"

He squealed to Moon excitedly while he spun you around even more. You could feel your head getting light and the little amount of food you had for breakfast starting to come up so you tapped Sun on the shoulder. Giving him a quick motion to the ground he let out a yelp before spewing apologies as he put you down. His eyes dart to the purple and blue bruises on your arm as your shirt sleeve drops to your elbows. His eyebrows crease in a pained expression as he gently trails his fingers over the bruises.

"Oh, dear! Not good at all! Not good at all indeed! Are you okay friend?!"

He started to completely freak out over the bruises before he shifted to look your entire body over for any more. He frantically opened a hatch on his arm to retrieve a tube of cream and bandages from it. Once he removed the cap off the tube and applied the cream to your arm he started bandaging the bruises, finally tying a knot and pulling your sleeve back down.

"There we go Sunshine! Good as new!"

He grinned widely while gently petting your head, but his smile left just as soon as it appeared.

He had begun to claw at his faceplate while mumbling, all you managed to catch was something about "How could a parent leave their child in such a deplorable condition!" You could tell he was getting more worked up and wanted him to calm down. Your brows furrowed as you raised your hands for a somewhat awkward hug. Which he had leaned in to give you, it took a while for him to release you from the hug. But once he did he sprung up and eagerly asked you to come to play with him. Which you hesitantly decided you would before following him over to the others

He had tried his best to slowly introduce the other kids to you and reprimand you on how you treat other friends.

Soon enough nap time rolled in and the other kids started to settle down onto nap mats with blankets. Sun looked around before he took out a remote from a hatch on his arm, and flicked a switch to turn off the lights. A resonating mechanical whirr sounded through the daycare. While seated on a nap mat you looked up at him long enough to see Sun swap out for Moon. By the time His red eyes flicked up most of the kids were already fast asleep and his gaze had turned to you. A frown quickly overtook his usual smile and he walked over before sitting down in front of you and taking your small hands in his.

"Are you alright little one?"

He's rather quiet but his tone of voice coaxes you. You can tell him the truth, right?

You looked around and fidgeted before meeting his gaze again.

"Sometimes when Mommy and Daddy are angry they hit us, but Big sib always protects me..."

His eyes creased as his smile was replaced by a scowl and you flinched back into a cower. After regaining his composure and placing a gentle smile on his face he opened his arms towards you for you to hug him.

"I'm sorry for scaring you little one, I was just upset to hear that somebody was hurting our precious dewdrop."

Did he care? Was he worried about you? Nobody besides your big sibling had ever been worried about you or cared. His voice made you relax into the hug as you yawned and your eyes started to flutter closed.

"I wish you and Sunny were my parents instead.."

Moon's eyes widened as he looked down at you in his arms but you had already fallen asleep... He sighed before sitting against a wall and placing your head to rest on his chest, covering you with a blanket and brushing a few loose strands of hair behind your ear.

"Good night, Little one..."
